Michelle Obama In Marchesa – 100th Annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Michelle Obama was the belle of the ball at the annual White House Correspondent’s Association Gala at the Washington Hilton hotel on Saturday (May 3) in Washington, D.C which was attended by journalists, politicians and celebrities.

Just like the 2012 and 2013 event, we have to make do with this cropped photo of the First Lady, but that doesn’t dull the impact of her stunning Marchesa Fall 2013 gown.

The grey tulle dropped-shoulder gown with silver floral embroidery, modified to be sleeveless, was styled with Cathy Waterman jewellery.

Nude lips and a honey-highlighted bouffant completed her simply gorgeous look.

I do actually prefer it with the sleeves, but she looks lovely!

Not liking this at all. Looks like a prom dress to me, not sophisticated and too drapy.

The runway version is nicer. She shd have kept the draping in the bottom part and the sleeves. I know Mrs. Obama says she gets hot easily. In which case, she shd have done another dress. This dress makes her look thick around the middle and there is sth funny going on. As if there was some last minute alteration gone wrong.

I dont think the color of the dress does her skin color the usual wow effect that other past evening dresses have done. She looked ok to me.

      I agree on all points.

She looks lovely- looks better without the sleeves.

I prefer the runway look. I think the dress is not as flattering around the middle as it could have been. She looks pretty but I have seen her in better

My favorite gown from her has to be the Naaem Khan one she wore to this event in 2012. This is a nice, subdued look, and she looks lovely. Her version is definitely better than the one on the runway. The sleeves look slightly dated.

FC, I think you’ve incorrectly identified Mrs. Obama as the designer of this gown on the picture of the model. Wasn’t aware FLOTUS designed gowns too…hehehehe.

P.S. This isn’t a jab at you by the way, in fact it has made my day and I can’t stop laughing at the idea that Michelle has her own line (she should though on second thought…haha).

Im not liking the change of the drapery in the over skirt. She looks fine but I am not awed.

She’s doing her usual thing, but she does it well.

I love it. She managed to find the only good Marchesa design in years lol.

Best dressed at this event. Hands down!

I’ve seen some full-length pictures of her on Sofia Vergara’s Instagram. Just stunning!
