Lily Allen In Chanel & Fendi – Chanel VIP Beauty Launch & Fendi Bond Street Store Opening Party

Lily Allen In Chanel & Fendi - Chanel VIP Beauty Launch & Fendi Bond Street Store Opening Party

It’s hard being fashion’s current ‘IT’ girl. Lily Allen was invited to not one but two fashion events on Thursday (May 1) in London, England.

Her night started at Chanel’s Beauty VIP launch held at Covent Garden, where she wore a Chanel Spring 2014 green tweed dress with white embellished short sleeves, which she styled with a Fendi mini ‘Peekaboo’ bag with a Buggies accent.

If you think it’s rather strange that Lily, of all people, would attend a Chanel event carrying anything other than Chanel, the next look will help things fall into place.

Opting not to do a quick change in the car, Lily’s next stop was New Bond Street, where she donned a multi-coloured Fendi Fall 2013 fur coat over her Chanel frock for the cocktail party celebrate the opening of their new store and preview the Fendi ‘Peekaboo’ customised bags.

This isn’t the first time this coat has been seen off the runway; Anna Dello Russo was, naturally, the first to wear this fuzzy creation over a year ago.

The Fendi ‘Peekaboo’ bags, customized by iconic women, will be auctioned off online at Fendi.com/peekaboo-auction with all proceeds going to Kids Company.

That coat really is all kinds of ugly.

The first look is OK. The coat is plain ugly.

The coat is incredibly awful… and those “furry things” hanging from the bag are very ugly too. Well, Chanel and Fendi are designed by Karl Lagerfeld so at the end of the day it’s not so rude from her. But I find both outfits ugly and badly styled.

Fur. Shame on you, Ms Allen.

I love the coat. Fendi has been pushing the envelope further the traditional prettiness for generations. The craftmanship involved in this coat is superb.

I never got Lily’s “style icon” status. She is such a constant fail in the style department. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look fashion forward or chic or even memorable.
This is a no for me
