Lucy Liu In Proenza Schouler – Late Show With David Letterman

Lucy Liu In Proenza Schouler - Late Show With David Letterman

Following the Tony Awards nominees announcement, Lucy Liu made a guest appearance on the ‘Late Show With David Letterman’, taping the show at the Ed Sullivan Theater on April 29, 2014 in New York City.

While I liked the previous look, this is the Lucy Liu I know and love.

The actress opted for an edgier look, wearing a Proenza Schouler Spring 2014 frock which is a shorter take on the runway gown.

Her black, white and copper pleated dress featuring a full skirt which balances the sleeveless cut has a lustrous coated finish which catches the light from every angle.

Amped up with a black patent-leather belt and Giuseppe Zanotti cut-out booties, she completed her look with a sleek ponytail and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

This is an easy BDOTW contender for me. Do you agree?

My girl never lets me down.

She looks fantastic but the shoes are a tad too chunky. This look would be better with black pointy pumps.

It’s not working for me. None of it, really. I especially dislike the shoes.

    She looks fantastic!

She looks so much better than the model (shoes included).

  5. Alex V May 1, 2014 at 18:55 #

The shoes are a tad heavy, imo

the more I look, the less I like it. all the modifications plus those shoes make her look short and frumpy.

Yay! Lucy is back! Very striking and edgy! Great styling!

Love the dress, hate her shoes. It shortens her legs..

Though I hate the shoes, I have to admit she is making this work. I also prefer the original bodice to the modifications in her dress. All that said, she is selling the hell out of this and it works.

I would like if the cutout wasn’t covered. For me, it looks censored or something.

    Love this.

I love everything ankles up. I like the shoes are a little too much. I like the idea of an egdy shoe but just not these shoes.

Oh my god .. No! Absolutely not. This is one of my favorite pieces from all the Spring 2014 collections and the modifications just ruined it. The shoes hurt my eyes. The only thing I like here is her make up.

Actually I really like the chunky shoes here. It adds edginess to the look. Great choice IMO. She looks perfect.

I wish she’d shortened the dress a bit more since she’s petite. But it is a nice look.

    I absolutely love this!
I agree that we don’t get to see her enough on the red carpet. I would be over the moon to see her on the RC at Cannes!!! 🙂

J’adore from head to toe !!!

She looks super-gorgeous in this dress, the best that any celeb has looked wearing any variation of this Proenza dress for my mind. Shoes are a little too heavy for my liking, but that is only a minor quibble. I think she nailed it.

  19. Christine April 30, 2014 at 11:42 #

I like this look apart from the shoes. I think her style is underrated

  20. Yeliz April 30, 2014 at 11:32 #

Actually I don’t like the shoes, but she is pulling this whole look off, therefore this could be a BDOTW contender.

  21. Alex April 30, 2014 at 11:00 #

She is fierce! Love her style.

  22. Joy April 30, 2014 at 11:00 #

When I first saw this pic, I remembered just how much I love her style. We don’t get to see her enough on the red carpet, but when we do I ALWAYS love it. I think she wears what I would wear, she’s girly, classy and always fun. I love this look!

    • SilentVisitor April 30, 2014 at 15:10 #

girly? I don’t think so. Fierce, I would say and she looks fantastic

      • Joy April 30, 2014 at 18:39 #

Yes, this look is fierce! But I generally find her style girly/feminine. For me this is both fierce & girly.

Love it, she’s rocking that outfit
