Zhang Ziyi In Zuhair Murad Couture – 4th Beijing Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Zhang Ziyi In Zuhair Murad Couture - 4th Beijing Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Zhang Ziyi took to the stage for the opening ceremony of the 4th Beijing International Film Festival held at China’s National Grand Theatre on Wednesday (April 16) in Beijing, China.

Changing out of her Elie Saab red carpet jumpsuit, the actress outdid herself, wearing a stunning Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture gown.

This was my favourite couture show of the season, and I’m delighted to see so many pieces making their way off the runway and onto the red carpet.

Ziyi looked radiant in her long-sleeved fully beaded gold gown featuring a long train.

Some may be suffering a tinge of disappointment that this beauty wasn’t worn on the red carpet, but I’m just grateful that I can’t see what shoes she’s wearing under this gown.

Of the two looks, which do you prefer: this glamorous, somewhat expected gown or the sleek Elie Saab jumpsuit?

Somebody slap me. She looks so beautiful and the dress is beyond divine !! I die I die. BDOTY nominee. I can’t even …..

Was she still wearing the hooker heels? Haha

Lmao over the heels comment, Catherine. It was the first thing I looked for – awful shoes! Thank goodness we can’t see them!

+1. May I never know what shoes lurk beneath that hemline, lol.

Exquisite. I prefer the dress without the belt cluttering up the elegant silhouette and beautiful fit, esp as Ziyi is not tall like the model.

LOL!!! I am so happy we can’t see the shoes, AKA the styling of her look. The dress itself is ok, but stumps her and is too busy of a print; very matronly as well but thats her MO it seems. She should probably take some fashion tips from Christina Ricci on how to look 6 feet tall when you are only 4’11.

great look but I miss the belt

    I miss the belt

    I really miss the belt!

  8. amy April 17, 2014 at 13:22 #

she looks great but I still want the belt

  9. Yeliz April 17, 2014 at 14:22 #

I prefer this gown with the belt, but I’m glad that we can’t see her shoes.

This is just too much. In my opinion she is too petite for all this embellishment. IMHO, not the direction she should be going. Even though this is a gorgeous dress, it’s not for her. And I’m still traumatized by those shoes, even though I can’t see them I can’t forget them!

    The dress somehow overwhelms her.
I’m glad we don’t see the shoes.

I think she looks stunning. I don’t miss the belt at all. I think this gown has so much going on that the belt is too much.

I found my BDOTY and Cannes isn’t here yet!

Wow. Such an intricate, perfect couture gown. I could stare at the picture for a week and still love it. J’adore.

Glad we didn’t see her shoes lol. I love the belt on the runway model, but it will be too much on Zhang cause the dress looks shiny enough due to the stage lighting.
