Du Juan In Prada – 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards

Du Juan In Prada - 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards

Du Juan joined a host of gorgeous stars on the red carpet for the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards on Sunday (April 9) in Hong Kong, China.

Here we have yet another Prada gown but, unlike Gemma Arterton’s show stopper, I’m only half onboard with this look: the top half.

I’m totally baffled by the dual-coloured black-and-red taffeta skirt; it looks ill-thought-out and doesn’t combine with the beautiful pink tulle stretch top enriched with crystal all-over embroidery, which I adore.

What Miuccia gives with one hand, she takes away with the other.

I wish she would give us consistently brilliant red carpet gowns, because when they are good, they are breathtaking.

Actually, I like very much the combination. What I don’t like is this OTT ball gowns in this type of event.IMHO it trivialises a rather beautiful gown.

It IS an award show, so I wouldn’t say she’s overdressed or that the occasion trivializes the gown. A great look is a great look, be it on the street or at a formal ball.

Speaking of “giving with one hand” I had to seriously pause on that second picture, as it looked like she was wearing a hand facinator or something. Not always good to pose by the poster ;)

“What Miuccia gives with one hand, she takes away with the other.”

I know! When I read that and saw the hand “patting” her head it kind of gave me the creeps!

If only the skirt wasn’t wrinkled. This would have been stunning.

The colour combinations don’t work together at all. I don’t like this.

    I think it’s stunning

This is really working for me. I’m loving it. The black border around the skirt adds a little something that distinguishes it from an Elie Saab.

I love it! Just wish there were no wrinkles on skirt. I don’t just love the outfit, I think the whole styling with naked face and dark lips elevates this even more!

I actually think the combination works very well. I love the versatility of the tulle top and double colored skirt and u think itakes a very intersting and outstanding look
