Freida Pinto & Alek Wek In H&M Conscious Collection – H&M Munich Store Opening

Freida Pinto & Alek Wek In H&M Conscious Collection - H&M Munich Store Opening

H&M opened a new store in Munich, Germany on Wednesday (April 9), with Alek Wek and Freida Pinto in attendance.

Alek Wek: The H&M Conscious collection is yet to go on sale and this pretty lace frock is already on its third outing. Sophia Bush wore this dress at the launch; Jennifer Lopez wore it again sans beaded detailing on American Idol; and here we have Alek again wearing this dress, styling it with the beaded open-toe heels from the same collection. Third time’s the charm, or enough of this dress already?

Freida Pinto: The Indian actress gave us a look at a piece from the same collection which is yet to take to the red carpet. She wore a black sleeveless top enriched with white floral embroidery which, if this wasn’t an H&M event, I would’ve assumed was a Naeem Khan piece. Paired with wide-leg pants, she styled the look with the same beaded heels and a beaded shoulder bag, adding a pop of colour via her red lips.

I don’t get why this dress is so popular, it makes grown women look like five year olds playing dress up.

For me, third times the charm. Alek finally gets it right with this H&M dress. I didn’t care for Sophia’s or Jen’s interpretation, but think Alek nailed it.

I think whatever is drawing women to this dress, it came out for me on Alek. She really elevated this look. I love the shoes, too. It almost looks like a Chanel outfit on her.

Don’t like either of the looks, and the whole look book is qustionable. Every time there’s H&M special collection I honestly try it all on and the only successful one has been Margiela, I own several pieces and constantly wear them. The rest has awkward fit, style or has been worn do death before it even hits the stores
