Greta Gerwig In Stella McCartney – The New Museum Annual Spring Gala

Greta Gerwig In Stella McCartney - The New Museum Annual Spring Gala

Greta Gerwig attended the New Museum’s annual Spring Gala held at Cipriani Wall Street on Tuesday (April 1) in New York City.

The actress wore a deep-red Stella McCartney lace jumpsuit from the Pre-Fall 2014 collection.

This striking statement piece, tailored with flesh-toned lining for a sleek and sexy finish, was styled with gold Jimmy Choo pumps and a black clutch.

Having a strong case of déjà vu?

That will be because this jumpsuit was worn by the designer herself to the 2009 Met Gala when part of the Stella McCartney Resort 2010 collection.

The look has the same duchess-satin obi wrap-style belt, but the neckline slightly differs.

I think this is one of her best ever looks. Do you agree?

It’s also very reminiscent of Kristen Stewart’s jumpsuit at the Met Gala last year.

Yes! That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this.

Thought the same and therefore do not like

Sorry – I think it’s terrible. The garment is not pretty, and not flattering, in my opinion.

    I like this on her.

I’ve never been crazy about the garment (in its various manifestations) to begin with, and now it has the fault of feeling stale.

I do love her styling though.
And the color, while more autumnal than springlike, is very beautiful and flattering to her.
The end result is a pretty nice look.

I think it’s perfection – from the gorgeous deep red and intricate lace to her choice of metallic pumps and simple pulled back hair. She looks fresh and sexy, I have no doubt one of her best looks.

I don’t like this, the jumpsuit makes her look much wider than she is. I think her best look ever was at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

This is way more sophisticated than I would expect from her. I think it looks great–if you look at other pictures the fit is actually very flattering. She is really surprising me here.

This is Stella McCartney?!? It looks like a bad mix of Zuhair Murad and Marchesa…two labels I don’t like.
So it’s a thumbs down for me…Greta and Stella can both do better than this.

I have never understood the appeal of Stella McCartney. 95% of her designs are hideous and unflattering.

I think the look itself is fine, I’m just not sure it’s on the right woman.
