Menswear Weekend Roundup

Menswear Weekend RoundupOver the weekend, the men made a series of red-carpet appearances in a range of eclectic statements—some traditional, some trendsetting. Here, a look at the highlights.

Douglas Booth: Looking appropriately dapper, the British actor attended the Irish fan premiere of ‘Noah,’ held at Savoy Cinema in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday (March 29). He paired his urbane Alexander McQueen blue and grey check double-breasted suit and waistcoat with a complementary blue tie and polished black loafers.

Jamie Campbell Bower: Giving us a good dose of English edginess, the actor was at the Jameson Empire Film Awards 2014 at Grosvenor House on Sunday (March 30) in London, England. He wore an Alexander McQueen navy skull jacquard suit, matched to a white tonal skull stripe shirt, polka-dot skull pocket square and black suede lace up shoes. Mussed-up hair, a nose ring and earring only added to all that skull-laced edge.

Menswear Weekend Roundup 2Tom Cruise: Continuing the navy-blue menswear trend, the actor donned an impeccably fit Giorgio Armani Made to Measure wool and vicuna one-button notch lapel three-piece suit for the Jameson Empire Awards 2014, where he received the ‘Legend of Our Lifetime’ award.

Theo James: Also working an Alexander McQueen number, his navy two-button, single-breasted suit had a certain sort of casual handsomeness at the ‘Divergent’ London premiere on Sunday (March 30) at Odeon Leicester Square. Did you like the forest-green tie?

Menswear Weekend Roundup 3Avan Jogia: The young stud struck a pose in a blue Armani suit at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2014 on Saturday (March 29) at the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles. Adding funky, rock-star edge were round shades, a diamond-print tie, and of course, those long strands.

Richard Armitage: Also attending the Jameson Empire Awards 2014, Richard was rather traditionally styled in a dark suit and grey tie. At least the small flash of a royal-purple pocket square added a bit of flair.

Menswear Weekend Roundup 4Ian Harding: The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ cutie was at The Humane Society Of The United States 60th anniversary benefit gala on Saturday (March 29) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California. His charcoal-grey SAND Copenhagen had a distinct sheen that was contrasted with a matte black button-down shirt.

Pharrell Williams: The hat is back. The rapper sauntered into the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2014, where he was decked in an Adidas track jacket with ‘GIRL’ spelled out in daisies. But, really, Vivenne Westwood topper—this time in forest green—led the way. His wife, Helen Lasichanh, worked a similarly style-forward look.

Pharrell obviously wins the prize for most attention-grabbing, but who had your best look?
