Jennifer Connelly In Alexander McQueen – ‘Noah’ London Premiere

Jennifer Connelly In Alexander McQueen - 'Noah' London Premiere

Jennifer Connelly joined Emma Watson on the water-print carpet for the ‘Noah’ premiere held at the Odeon Leicester Square on Monday (March 31) in London, England.

Continuing to outdo herself, she looked sensational, closing this promo tour wearing an Alexander McQueen Fall 2014 high-neck gown with a shimmering floral bodice and frayed organza black skirt.

The beauty of this, as with any McQueen piece, is the intricate details which leave you in awe.

With her hair pulled back into a simple bun and opting for neutral makeup, this look has the perfect mix of drama and demure.

A ‘Wing of Desire’ diamond earring by Jessica McCormack and the ‘Hera’ blue sapphire ring by Boucheron completed her look.

The piece is stunning, but she doesn’t pull it off. She looks like shes suffocating.

  2. Yeliz March 31, 2014 at 20:02 #

I’m not loving the fur skirt, but from the waist up, she looks flawless.

      I agree.

Love it! Save for Cate Blanchett, I don’t think there is another person bold enough or with the ability to pull this off with such aplomb.

  5. anjos March 31, 2014 at 20:08 #

Jennifer showing actresses half her age what fashion is all about.

  6. shap_half March 31, 2014 at 20:08 #

She looks sensational. She has been sensational all promo long. Not a single fault so far.

  7. Nat39 March 31, 2014 at 20:14 #

The skirt is heavy and overpowering, looks more like a coat. This is overworked and costumey.

  8. Rachael March 31, 2014 at 20:18 #

Phenomenal. I’d have it on my BDOTY.

    • rashmi March 31, 2014 at 21:16 #

      Agree! BDOTY!

    • jokebetweenthetrees March 31, 2014 at 21:39 #

+2. Up close she looks breath taking.

    • mg April 1, 2014 at 00:36 #

      BDOTY

  9. Christine March 31, 2014 at 20:21 #

Getting goosebumps! Love this so much. She looks amazing. Her best!

  10. Joy March 31, 2014 at 20:27 #

    Goosebumps here too!

Everyone can go home, put there comfy sweatpants on because BDOTY is DONE! I know who I’m voting for…AND it’s a McQueen. I am a very happy girl in this moment.

  11. Juli123 March 31, 2014 at 20:28 #

Beautiful dress top, bottom is appalling. All latest collections McQueen very disappointing. Not the best dress Jennifer.

    • Nat39 March 31, 2014 at 21:24 #

That fur skirt is monstrous, to be honest, I’m baffled with all the excitement.

  12. Marcel March 31, 2014 at 20:30 #

I can appreciate the intrincacy of the embroidery but it still is a rotund NO for me. There are too many details on the skirt making it visually too heavy. Perhaps if it wasn’t lined I would like better.

  13. Maria March 31, 2014 at 20:36 #

    Incredible! End of story.

  14. Derreck March 31, 2014 at 20:36 #

Did someone get a new stylist? Because she has been stepping up her game tremendously for these past few outings.

  15. Sophie's Choice March 31, 2014 at 20:49 #

She looks great, love that she always takes risks. Btw-I also believe that she’s been with the same stylist, who’s Leslie Fremar.

  16. Marybeth March 31, 2014 at 21:21 #

Too much going on with this dress to suit me.
I wish the bodice were matched with a plainer skirt—or the fur skirt matched with a plainer bodice.
As it is, the garment is almost oppressively heavy in feel.

I do believe Jennifer is wearing it as well as it can be worn, though.

    • Nat39 March 31, 2014 at 23:28 #

I’m imagining it with the flowing chiffon skirt, this would’ve been a beauty. The gown is overwrought. But I also think that Jennifer is carrying it well – she is very beautiful, one sees her gorgeous face and all the bold drama and gets sold.

  17. Carrie March 31, 2014 at 21:41 #

I’m in the camp of those who love it! Wow – what a work of art.

  18. Neli March 31, 2014 at 21:50 #

    Neck up. The rest: NO.

  19. H March 31, 2014 at 22:05 #

    She is crushing.it.killing.it!

  20. Marian March 31, 2014 at 22:25 #

OBSESSED with her style right now. AMAZING. BDOTW. Yes. Contender for BDOTY? Maybe.

  21. Julie March 31, 2014 at 23:33 #

LOVE. She is shutting it down this tour!! BDOTW and candidate for BDOTY for sure.

  22. Rebecca Z March 31, 2014 at 23:34 #

She looks spectacular, though I have to admit I am not a fan of the skirt. Still, her styling and posture make it work. This is not my BDOTY, but she does look so gorgeous, in spite of the bizarre bottom half of this dress.

    • Denise April 1, 2014 at 07:15 #

I agree. The skirt is heavy but from the waist up, perfection.

  23. Britta April 1, 2014 at 00:18 #

Spectacular – breathe taking! And a contender for BDOTY for sure! Never looked better. It’s not an easy gown to wear – but she owns it!

  24. mm April 1, 2014 at 00:20 #

She pulls it off. The dress Really is stunning. Her eye color pops with the makeup. the one earring doesnt work for me.throws of the the symmetry of the dress.

  25. Alex April 1, 2014 at 00:57 #

    Obsessed. She looks flawless!

  26. CreoleLady April 1, 2014 at 01:07 #

What an ugly dress. No, no, a thousand times no.

    • arang April 1, 2014 at 02:43 #

+1 Yes. Beautiful workmanship and a beautiful wearer do not always add up to a beautiful result. The dress is something of a monstrosity, imo. It quite swallows her whole.

    • McKenzie April 1, 2014 at 03:33 #

I agree. I think it’s horrid. Not pretty at all.

By the way, love your username!

      • CreoleLady April 1, 2014 at 04:47 #

Thank you. You have impeccable taste :D

    • laura April 1, 2014 at 13:22 #

      agree this is unattractive.

  27. k6wing April 1, 2014 at 01:52 #

    Too dramatic for my taste

  28. Fer April 1, 2014 at 02:45 #

That earring almost ruined it for me, but NO! I am in LOVE.

  29. cherrysoftness April 1, 2014 at 03:24 #

Oh my gggggggggg she is sensational, she is putting a lot of other actresses to shame. How can you not look at her and not, gaze.

  30. ical April 1, 2014 at 04:03 #

    Wow, it’s dramatic!

  31. Dhppy April 1, 2014 at 04:13 #

I appreciate this more than like it, but it looks grand. It seems like it’s more suited to a great event like Cannes, The Met Gala, or the Oscars.

  32. m April 1, 2014 at 06:07 #

    wow!!! amazing…. simply breathtaking…

  33. Louise April 1, 2014 at 10:48 #

Definitely in the love camp. I gasped when I first glimpsed her.

  34. Jones19 April 1, 2014 at 12:16 #

    Love the drama!

  35. Pedro April 1, 2014 at 12:51 #

    WOW WOW WOW!

    She looks fantastic! BDOTY

  36. kane April 1, 2014 at 14:34 #

I’m firmly placed between all chairs here: I can see the suffocating quality of the top and the skirt looks like a warm blanket I would love to wrap myself in when I put it into my head to have my coffee outside in freezing January sunshine. And yet, she makes this work. She looks like a gorgeous yet fierce queen of the Amazons. I only wish she had left the earring out.

  37. amy April 1, 2014 at 15:14 #

    too heavy for me.

  38. Alina April 1, 2014 at 15:22 #

I think she pulls it off and she looks incredible! BDOTW worthy for sure.

  39. lee April 1, 2014 at 15:46 #

True Movie Star!!! love it, She looks amazing.

    • P. April 1, 2014 at 18:22 #

I really wanna to love it, but something isn’t quite right. I guess it’s the overwhelming skirt. The proportions are off. BTW, the top is exquisite, as well as her face. It could have been a strong BDOTY candidate, but it wasn’t meant to be. =/

  40. Camille April 1, 2014 at 22:26 #

I think she looks striking. Yes the dress is overworked a bit, but it’s opulence and embellishment are part of what makes it so dramatic and unique. I think it would be divine at the Met Gala where theatrical, dramatic gowns are de rigueur. She is holding her own, looking confidant, edgy and gorgeous in a gown that might have overwhelmed a less glamorous lady.
