Penélope Cruz In Giambattista Valli Couture – Oscars 2014

Penélope Cruz In Giambattista Valli Couture - Oscars 2014

Penélope Cruz was pretty in ballet-pink, as she took to the red carpet at the Oscars 2014, held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday (March 2).

The Spanish actress swooshed about in a custom blush Giambattista Valli Couture one-shoulder gown.

Elegantly and lightly draped, with a chiffon cape-inspired detail, the effect was a softly romantic one. The slight Grecian silhouette was punctuated by a striking black bow at the empire waist, along with a black handbag.

Chopard diamond chandelier earrings only brightened her radiant smile, as she completed the look with a nude lip and topknot-inspired updo.

    Not loving this.

Looks a bit dated and a bit bridal to me.

I don’t like it, it’s matronly. And she has beautiful hair but she always sport aging hairstyles on red carpets.

I feel like we have seen this before on her, but she does look beautiful.

Totally agree. A vision of elegance!

J’adore H2T, the soft colour, the elegant draping – very delicate and romantic with the black elements grounding the look – absolutely beautiful!

She kept strategically using the dress to hide her midsection. Wondering if she is pregnant? Or has she recently given birth? The whole point of this design seemed to be to camouflage her middle. On the whole it was just okay and a bit superfluous with all the extra fabric and draping.

She gave birth to a daughter, months ago.

A bit too much going on in the dress, but she looks lovely!

I just watched the Today show where one of the guest fashion ‘judges’ described this dress as looking like a sack?! So rude!! The colour was lovely on her and when she came on the stage to present last night I thought she looked beautiful.

Stunning! Her make-up and hair are flawless.

She is a master in the red carpet, there is no doubt, the way she moves, the way she poses, always changes with each dress she wears, I just love her.

I just missed her grace so much in the red carpet.

    My favorite of the night.

Her makeup and hair are just divine too.

I can’t believe the bad comments. For me she was one of the best of the night! Stunning gown, elegant styling! I think she nailed it! Pure glamour!

I found Penelope was beautiful. The color was fresh in an evening with tons of glitter, black, silver and nude dresses.

Congrats to the designer, Giambattista Valli.

The hair and make up accordingly. Congrats to her stylist as well.
