Jennifer Garner In Oscar de la Renta – Oscars 2014

Jennifer Garner sparkled on Sunday (March 2) at the 2014 Oscars, hosted at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

With a big nomination for Best Picture for ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ Jennifer wore a gown designed by Oscar de la Renta.

Joining the metallic, beaded, 1920’s-inspired trend, the silver tiered gown was very flattering on the star. Jennifer is one of my favourite red carpet beauties, always making the right sartorial choices in my eyes, but I was underwhelmed by this beaded number–it felt too simple and not glamorous enough for the actress.

Jennifer accessorized her red carpet style with Brian Atwood shoes and Oscar de la Renta’s ‘Goa’ clutch. I did love Jennifer’s side-swept bangs and loosely wavy ‘do and neutral makeup.

What’s your take on Jennifer’s gown?

I think this look is adorable which means its the perfect dress for Jennifer. She was a presenter so its perfectly simple with a twist. Beautiful!

I don’t know why more people don’t love this. The color, the shimmer, the way it moved when she walked, she was one of my best dressed. Jennifer rarely lets me down on the red carpet and this was no exception. A lot of people thought it wasn’t glamorous enough for the Oscars, but remember she’s just a presenter, not a nominee. She didn’t want to steal the spotlight, which is one of the things I like about her. She always dresses event appropriate.

I disagree completely. I saw the dress on TV – and it sparkled and looked so amazing on her! It was very glamouros. She looked stunning!

This woman is beautiful I don’t know why she never wears something memorable that would make our jaws drop.

Not her best effort, but nevertheless she looks fabulous.

I agree with most of the comments on here. In photos, the dress looks a little dull and mute. However, when she walked on stage to present, this dress shimmered with style and grace. The color silver was much more vibrant than seen in this photo. It was a flawless gown.

Nothing too memorable on the red carpet. But IMO she had the best dress in motion. It looked spectacular when she walked on to the stage.

Love the fringe! I think Amy Adams’ look at last years Oscar parties was a better version, but this is still pretty awesome!

I can agree that it doesn’t look like anything particularly stand-out in photographs, but when she presented with Benedict Cumberbatch (who I couldn’t wait to see, for obvious reasons), I could not take my eyes off her. I didn’t even see him! The way the dress moved and sparkled was absolutely stunning on-screen. I think it was an excellent choice on her part.

I completely agree with you. When she stepped on stage and the lights hit the dress, she was mesmerizing. i had no idea who was walking with her until they began their presentation. The dress was definitely meant for movement and lights and I loved it.

I love the dress from the waist down. I just don’t like the top that feels too simple and square. I really liked the way it moved when she went on stage to present an oscar.

The dress itself doesn’t really strike me as special in anyway, but she looks young, happy, great!

it moves and glide in the stage

I think this is simply stunning and much more glamorous than what she usually wears.

Just watched her present and the dress looked like she was dripping in silver. Gorgeous! Don’t judge this dress by the pictures! Hair and makeup were beautiful as well.

So true. This dress was brought to life when she walked onto the stage. I thought she looked really beautiful.

Have you seen her walking on stage???? I´m not big fan of Jennifers style, but she´s perfect for me.

what i like about her is her infectious smile.. which many celebs seem to be lacking while posing… she oozes confidence and there is something that makes you smile along with her…

Jennifer Garner is beautiful but I like the SAG look MUCH better.

  20. Anj March 3, 2014 at 03:16 #

I like the skirt but I think the top half looks a bit cheap.

  21. CTgirl March 3, 2014 at 03:13 #

Great look except for the greige color that sucks the light from the room.

  22. adrian March 3, 2014 at 03:01 #

easily one of her better looks in a long while

  23. Kells March 3, 2014 at 03:01 #

id prefer this to the purple gucci she wore last year, everthing from the dress the hair the makeup..everything looks just proportionate..maybe an edgier clutch selection?

  24. Tamia March 3, 2014 at 02:59 #

This is actually my favourite of the night! She looks like she came to party 🙂 In motion on screen the gown looks terrific when she was moving and shimmying down the carpet.

    • julyol1972 March 3, 2014 at 06:04 #

Agree! This was gorgeous as she moved across the stage to present.

      • Madkrakatoa March 5, 2014 at 18:05 #

Agree, picture doesn’t make it any justice, when she walked across the stage that dress screamed PARTY!

  25. Sara March 3, 2014 at 02:52 #

I don’t like her hair this orangy color. Like her more as a true brunette.

  26. Noemi March 3, 2014 at 02:49 #

    Beautiful but easily forgettable.
