Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji – Film Independent Spirit Awards 2014

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji - Film Independent Spirit Awards 2014

Octavia Spencer attended the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards, hosted at Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica, California on Saturday (March 1).

Relying on her favoured tried-and-true designer Tadashi Shoji, the actress wore a black-and-nude lace cocktail frock from the Spring 2014 collection.

Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get behind this look like I can with her other sleekly sophisticated Shoji statements.

Although I would have liked to see her in a more vibrant, sunny colour for this event, the sassy dress was not really the problem here, as it was a victim of its styling.

The black Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch was fine, but I wanted to rip off the black scarf that basically covered the entire ensemble whilst exchanging the ankle-strap platform sandals by Prada for a more streamlined pair.

Sadly, I agree. The styling is not good.

+1 Hating the scarf! (and in a lesser fashion, the shoes)

I get so bored with her wearing the same designer all the time and the addition of the scarf made me even more unimpressed with the look.

This is not a flattering picture of Octavio. I saw her arrived with Ahna O’Reilly in a limo and she looked gorgeous minus the scarf. The dress hugged her every curves.

    Rare miss for Octavia.

I agree, the styling is the killer here. The scarf is terrible and I really don’t like the lip colour either. I don’t mind the shoes too much but a more streamlined pair would have been good.

The scarf wasn’t necessary at all. I’m so bothered by it.
