Lupita Nyong’o In Jonathan Cohen – GREY GOOSE Presents ’12 Years A Slave’ Dinner

Lupita Nyong'o In Jonathan Cohen - GREY GOOSE Presents 12 Years A Slave Dinner

Luptia Nyong’o rounded off her busy awards season party schedule at the Grey Goose ’12 Years a Slave Dinner’ last night (March 1) at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, California.

In her final outing before the all-important Oscars, Lupita chose to wear a gloriously colourful Jonathan Cohen Fall 2014 dress. The red, blue-and-white abstract shattered mirror and lipstick print long-sleeve number was simple in cut but impactful thanks to Luptia’s striking figure.

To finish, the best supporting actress nominee chose a sparkling blue Edie Parker clutch, complementary bright red pumps and Dana Rebecca Designs jewellery for a delightfully polished, but possibly not her strongest, look.

I’m getting tired of the most of her shoe choices as well, but I think this time she got it right. She looks gorgeous.

Lupita looks marvellous again – I don’t understand the disapproval of her shoes – they are much better than the ugly boots on the model, and I see no harm in having matching shoes.

      I have to agree.
There’s no denying that she plays it safe by opting for matching shoes but some comments in previous posts were a bit ott. Like chill, it’s just shoes lol.

I totally agree. Maybe she’s most comfortable with this type of shoe. It appears that most of the shoes she has worn have been like these….same shape, just different color. I don’t recall ever seeing her in an open toe shoe. Maybe she’s uncomfortable about her feet. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with matchy shoes

+3. I like that these pumps pick up the accent red/coral in the dress perfectly. I might understand the complaint better if the dress was solid red but that’s not the case here.

It’s not fair comparing the lookbook shoes with Lupita’s shoes. Designers cannot just get colored pumps from others. You should know that shoes take a long time to manufacture so usually they have the same shoes for all the looks. Hope this clarifies it.

Anyways, she is always wearing the same pumps in just different colors. Which is like her awards show gowns. I hope she makes the Oscars look standout. I don’t know who will win between her and JLaw since JLaw is not doing any campaign but is still head to head with Lupita.

Why was my previous post deleted?

I love the dress and this time the shoes also work well with the outfit.

I think I´m growing slighty tired of the style of every nominee this year…How many parties have they attended this month? To me, they re losing quite the expectation being in every luncheon, gala night or even boutique´s inauguration. Too much exposition

Lupita is definitely my favourite at the moment but her footwear choices are getting a little predictable. I have nothing against matching accessories and I love her for always picking colorful pieces, I just wish her shoes were sandals and not pumps for a change.
