Mindy Kaling joined Kiernan Shipka at the 16th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, hosted at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday (February 22).
The funny-gal went for an elaborate, all-out glam approach in her turquoise-blue, one-shoulder gown, which was designed by Salvador Perez who serves as president of the Guild and the costume designer of her show, ‘The Mindy Project.’
The stunning, surreal colour had me captivated at the very first glance. And the curve-enhancing silhouette, complete with a sash waistband and long train, deserve high marks, as well.
I even found myself occasionally wishing the intricate lace embroidery was gone, so as not to detract from the dress’s bold, electric hue that looked so gorgeous with her skin tone and jet-black waves.
She styled the look with a set of gold bangles, complementary gemstone earrings and a shiny silver clutch. The earrings would have been plenty, given the intense colour and complexity of the gown.
