Brit Awards 2014 Menswear Roundup
The Brit Awards 2014 on Wednesday (February 19) certainly brought some colourful, if not questionable, entrances from the starlets who crowded the O2 Arena in London, England. Not leaving the fashion fun to just the ladies, a crush of guys also flexed their sartorial strength.
Pharrell Williams: Yet again leaving his hat trick for another day, the entertainer returned to his favoured designer with this Lanvin charcoal-grey, lamé-effect two-button suit from the Hiver 2014 Pre-Collection. He paired the high-shine suit with a white tuxedo shirt with pearl buttons and a black satin bow tie, capping off the look with black patent leather derbies sans socks. Of course, he pulled his signature style move by rolling his pants into a cropped length to complete this cool-kid look.
Tinie Tempah: The British rapper gave us his dapper best in a Dolce & Gabbana two-tone champagne and charcoal-grey ensemble, featuring a textured, dotted blazer and vest and cropped trousers. He wore the suit with a printed grey tie, white shirt and socks-less black loafers. Did you like his mixing and matching?
Calvin Harris: Standing alongside his girlfriend, Rita Ora, the hot DJ perhaps didn’t so much stand out in his all-black Emporio Armani ensemble as provide the perfect backdrop for her to shine. The light sheen of his suit was still a handsome accessory to her bold radiance.
Bruno Mars: Channeling his sporty side, the singer performed in a Saint Laurent ‘Perfecto’ black leather jacket, paired with a striped black-and-white top and jeans. He topped off his funky skater-boy look with a baseball cap and sneakers.
Nick Grimshaw: Indulging in mixed prints, the British TV and radio presenter accessorized his brown polka-dot Gucci blazer and black skinny pants with a long white-and-grey, leopard-print scarf. His pompadour-style ’do was also present and accounted for—naturally.
Labrinth: The British musician dressed to impress in a Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 tuxedo blazer in a mixed paisley print with contrasting shawl lapel. Toning down the jacket, he wore a black turtleneck, black jeans and boots. I may have been more excited about this look had Tinie Tempah not first worn this statement jacket last month.
One Direction: The British singing heartthrobs and Global Success award-winners were well-coordinated in their trendy-cool, monochrome looks of the night, wearing some riff on black jackets and skinny black pants. Liam Payne was sleekly handsome in his all-black ensemble, punctuated by a double-breasted blazer. Harry Styles gave his black Alexander McQueen look an added punch with his black-and-white, lace-printed shirt. Injecting some biker edge, Niall Horan put a leather jacket over his white T-shirt. Zayn Malik tied up his blazer, white button-up shirt and black pants with a printed scarf. Wearing a T-shirt under his black shawl-lapel tuxedo jacket, Louis Tomlinson polished off his casual-formal look with a touch of flair via Mr. Hare ‘Fitzgerald’ black-and-white shoes.
