Ellie Goulding In Matthew Williamson – Elle Style Awards 2014

Ellie Goulding In Matthew Williamson - Elle Style Awards 2014

Ellie Goulding joined a host of stars on the red carpet of the Elle Style Awards 2014 held at One Embankment in central London this evening (February 18).

Wearing a satin and star lace sheer panelled jumpsuit from Matthew Williamson’s Fall 2014 collection, Ellie brought a heavy dose of rock’n’roll edge to the occasion.

While the runway version was much given a much more polished finish, I must admit I’m pleasantly surprised by this look.

I think a jumpsuit is a great eveningwear option for Ellie, and this simple yet glamorous version ensures she retains her androgynous spirit.

Ellie’s hair was typically undone but I actually think this adds a cool-girl edginess to the jumpsuit. My only change would be to add a more dramatic nail colour and some high shine accessories such as a bold cuff and mirrored clutch.

The fit seems a little snug.

The jumpsuit is too tight, makes it look cheap. And I don’t like her hair.

It all just looks weird. I don’t mind her hair but her “tan” is the same color as her hair which is not a good look. The outfit itself seems like fancy pajamas better suited with the lights off.

ELLE STYLE AWARDS…I said it all
I know that not everyone can look like a top model, but that’s not the point: that was not the right dress/styling for the event and for her
still, I love her as an artist
