Abbie Cornish In Elie Saab – ‘RoboCop’ World Premiere

Abbie Cornish In Elie Saab - 'RoboCop' World Premiere

It has been a cold miserable day in London; not just because of the bad weather, but also because of the tube strike which has made travelling around the capital a nightmare.

So I welcome this ray of sunshine courtesy of Abbie Cornish, who attended the world premiere of ‘RoboCop’ held at The IMAX on Wednesday (February 05) in London.

She wore an Elie Saab signature embellished orange 3/4 length sleeve, open-back gown styled Sheikh vegan shoes, Slight Jewelry earrings, ring and a gold Jimmy Choo ‘Cosma’ clutch.

Having worn her hair back the last few appearances, she sports sleek golden tresses tumbling around her shoulders on this occasion.

Before you say it; I know what you’re thinking. This gown is striking similar to the sleeveless version of an Elie Saab orange gown which Elizabeth Banks wore to ‘The Hunger Games’ Berlin premiere back in 2012.

She looks fabulous. I love this from head-to-toe. BDOTW worthy!

This is a gorgeous gown but I feel like the cut with all the embellishments on a large bust makes it look a tad unflattering on her. Which is a shame because the dress is quite lovely.

I agree! What a breathtakingly stunning dress, wow! But the chest area is rather distracting and I think I would have liked to see this on a brunette.

        I agree with you.

ia. The bust area is the first thing I’ve noticed.

I really like this look. It perked me up. This is Elie Saab done with a slight edge and done right.

It does look like the Elizabeth Banks look, but I much prefer this tone of color and styling. Maybe it’s all in the lighting, but Abbie looks great.

She looks BDOTW worthy! Love the hair as well. She looks different

So stunning! Love everything about this. BDOTW contender for sure!

It’s fine–pretty dress, well styled. She just looks so uncomfortable–like she is holding her breath. I like that she is not a super skinny girl, but she looks like she is trying to dress like one.

Love it SO much! Perfect styling, perfect colour! She was the star of the red carpet!

    Gorgeous!
I think I like the sleeveless version worn by Elizabeth Banks a bit more but this is still a great dress and nicely styled.
    Definitely a BDOTW contender.

The gown is undeniably pretty but with Abbie’s curvier figure and larger bust, the fit feels strained, her straight loose bleached blonde hair hanging there (soft waves would’ve been so much nicer) along with the harsh eye makeup and dark nails cheapen the look for me. Prefer Elizabeth by a LONG mile.

She looks very pretty, but I would have preferred a lighter nail polish and a few waves in her hair. Otherwise, a great look.

I’m of the few that don’t like this. It’s not flattering on her figure and the colour doesn’t suit her complexion. Not to mention that her hair should’ve been up and she looks completely uncomfortable.
    Elizabeth Banks however looked stunning…

Gorgeous dress but the colour does nothing for her, would look amazing on someone with a more olive complexion and dark hair.

Elizabeth looked beautifull, but for Abbie NO! With the long sleeves it is to much and it is just not the color for her. Put some fabric in the back and it is a great dress for Helen Mirren.

    • Malinda Jane February 6, 2014 at 03:28 #

I agree completely. It’s rather aging.
I also find the deeper orange shade of Elizabeth’s more flattering. This paler orange isn’t working for me. Maybe on someone with darker skin and hair?

It isn’t a bad look. I like the bold tangerine shade of the dress. Perhaps it is just the angle of the photo, but she looks oddly top heavy.

The colour or the fit does nothing for her figure. The whole styling is disappointing unfortunately.
