Kristen Stewart In Chanel – Out In Paris

Kristen Stewart In Chanel - Out In Paris

Having arrived in Paris on Monday, Kristen Stewart was spotted out and about in the city this afternoon (February 4).

Obviously in town to shoot her Chanel Pre-Fall 2014 ad campaign with Uncle Karl, the actress has already been furnished with some Chanel goodies.

It’s not quite a classic Chanel tweed suit or twin-set-with-pearls look – not that we’d expect that from Kristen – but despite the uncharacteristic nature of the look, it’s Chanel nonetheless.

The actress wore a navy Chanel hoodie with her dark-wash jeans, styled with canvas Chanel sneakers and a Chanel graffiti backpack slung on one shoulder while holding her Chanel ‘Boy’ bag.

Chanel debuted this graffiti-inspired backpack on the Spring 2014 runway back in September. When it hits stores the bag will retail at a cool $3,400. $3,400 for a backpack? Yikes.

Featuring woven ropes, thick chains and colourful spray paint, the Chanel ‘Bricolage’ canvas backpack is definitely a departure from the chic silhouette the brand is known for; however, it certainly suits Kristen’s style.

Can I say that to me that backpack is H O R R I B L E ??I cannot see any kind of fashion i it.. and it’s not becouse of the graffiti and chains… to me It’s not polished and has no style, or whatever it is..
how would you justify its price?

    • dee February 4, 2014 at 19:28 #

You can say that and I completely agree.

    • Agi February 5, 2014 at 08:54 #

Well the price argument is a moot point when it comes to fashion in general. You pay for the brand and not for the product itself :)

Actually the sneaker are also chanel…

My, oh my! This should be forbidden. This never should have happened. Karl must have lost his mind…

she doesn’t even like fashion! why does she keep getting these endorsements???? gahhhh!!!!

Ah. Chanel has often made awkward, unwearable clothes, but now I see that they are branching out into the tacky and cheap-looking as well.
    Interesting (and sad) development.

Aesthetically, this outfit barely rises to the level of the on-sale bin at Walmart. The only difference is the loud display of the Chanel name and logo, which broadcasts to the world that the wearer is sufficiently stupid to pay hundreds of dollars for ten-dollar trash.

I don’t mean to criticize Kristin Stewart personally. She is, after all, being paid to wear this.

    • dee February 4, 2014 at 19:29 #

LOL, I agree. That bag is awful.

    • cherrysoftness February 5, 2014 at 01:25 #

That hurts, I have had a long-standing love affair with this brand, but… this outfit does truly look like a collection of fake Chanel items. The “on-sale bin at Walmart” is particularly spot-on. I’m trying not to type a series of sad faces but I have one for real right now.

The boy bag? Yes. Always. The backpack? No. Never.

I’ll probably be the only one but i love the backpack. I think the juxtaposition between the brands chic elegant aesthetic and the grunge and graffiti is rather genius. But yikes at that price!

I think the whole look works. It suits to her style and she looks cool.

+1 this is all chanel and this is all kristen. so i like it

  13. Hannah February 4, 2014 at 23:18 #

She looks ridiculous holding that bag with that outfit even if most of it is Chanel as well. Awful.

  14. CTgirl February 5, 2014 at 00:42 #

This is just horrible – no style, no finesse, no irony, no humor. Just. No.

  15. sharizal_samah February 5, 2014 at 01:08 #

    Dear Chanel,

ur backpack is horrible and expensive

    we are not stupid

  16. kevinappears February 5, 2014 at 02:19 #

The authentic Chanel bag looks like a fake Chanel

    • Kathy February 5, 2014 at 15:18 #

That’s kind of the point…it’s ironic in that most people who saw you carrying it around would think it was a blatant knockoff, but the joke would be on them.

  17. Dani February 5, 2014 at 02:31 #

Does anyone know where to buy that hoodie? Or at least, how much it costs?

    • CTgirl February 5, 2014 at 04:45 #

It looks like you could acquire it from just about any street vendor for about $12.

  18. Anne Gallagher February 5, 2014 at 03:10 #

I refuse to awknowledge that a sweatshirt could be considered “designer” wear, and $3400.00 for a that backpack? Who is going to foolish enough to pay that? This outfit, in general, is nothing special, and looks exactly like any outfit found in any college kid’s closet. Except that the college kid payed much, much less.

  19. Kathy February 5, 2014 at 15:23 #

The price point is a little ridiculous, but I sort of love the twisted humor in the “cheap”-looking backpack. It’s the equivalent of buying expensive, pre-ripped jeans when you could just as easily DIY a cheaper pair at home. To each their own, right?

    • admmgz February 5, 2014 at 18:36 #

      +1

<3 Kristen and looking forward to the Chanel Campaign.

She has never impressed me. She looks the same when she’s wearing Jack Purcells, no-name jeans and a flannel shirt. Makes absolutely no difference that here she’s wearing the Chanel versions of all, and her clothes and accessories probably cost over $10,000. Ugh.
