Sheridan Smith In Nicholas Oakwell Couture – National Television Awards 2014

Sheridan Smith In Nicholas Oakwell Couture - National Television Awards 2014

BAFTA winning actress Sheridan Smith took to the red carpet at the 2014 National Television Awards at the O2 Arena in London yesterday evening (January 22).

Wearing a Nicholas Oakwell Couture floor-length dress and with her hair in a retro beehive, Sheridan looked quite the 60s starlet.

You may remember that we’ve seen Portia Freeman wear this same dress to the 2012 British Fashion Awards. The two ladies each put a their own unique spin on it.

Instead of following in Portia’s rockier model look, Sheridan turned this bronze and brown sequin column dress into an altogether more sophisticated get-up which was reminiscent of a retro movie heroine.

To finish the look, Sheridan chose a small black clutch and sky-high heels in order not to distract from the sleek hair and make-up, and of course, the stand-out dress.

I’m actually surprised by how covered up Sheridan is here, especially considering her height, but it works. It’s quirky and genuinely refreshing to see her try something different.
