Michelle Dockery In J. Mendel – 2014 SAG Awards

Michelle Dockery In J. Mendel - 2014 SAG Awards

Michelle Dockery stunned in monochrome at the 2014 SAG Awards, held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (January 18).

The ‘Downton Abbey’ star and best ensemble nominee debuted her first-ever J. Mendel design, opting for a sleek, black-and-white moment, which she paired with corresponding dual-colour Gianvito Rossi ‘Alina’ pumps.

On the red carpet, she described the dress as tuxedo-inspired, and it certainly had slightly mannish undertones, given its structure and contrasting mock lapels.

However, the plunging neckline and thigh-high slit brought in plenty of sultry, feminine appeal—although I have a feeling the low-cut bodice may turn some of you off this look.

Similar to her ensemble at Entertainment Weekly’s SAG Awards celebration yesterday, she kept her bold entrance nearly bedazzle free, with only a white clutch and petite David Yurman earrings. Her berry-red lip was piercing, and I loved it for that reason.

It was most certainly the va-va-voom accessory here.

The bust area looks sad. Not liking this at all

Agree. I’m getting a more saggy vibe than anything being va-va-voom here. The fit isn’t great either and the dress itself just doesn’t look good.

A long running issue I have with most of Michelle’s dresses is that she always seems in need of a good bra, or support. This is no exception.

    She needs a bra.

I don’t really care for this look. The neckline doesn’t work on her.

Can’t look past the saggy bust, and I’m bored.

I’m quite surprised but I like it, although I think that bust area looks bit odd for me, but she sells the dress imo.

None of this works, not just the neckline :/ I was really hoping for something good. But the style and shape along with the hair and makeup don’t fit. It isn’t her, and none of her outfits for the past year have been. New stylist Michelle. One who actually gets you and your style.

She can do so much better. I loved her Prada dress yesterday SO much better than this.

Nothing exciting is going on in here, which is a shame really, as she was on such an amazing fashion row, IMO. When I first spotted her on Getty it was one of these headshots, and I almost jumped scared as she looks so washed out one can easily mistake her with a grown-up Wednesday Addams.

    Not her best look.

I don’t mind the low cut aspect of the dress but the girls needed some more support. The red lip really does wonders.

I was expecting something more from her after her Prada entrance earlier at the Nominees Party. This is a bit underwhelming even though she has kept up her streak of experimenting with different styles. The bust looks area looks just…sad. But the peplum and the slit down the front balance it out, I guess. But what I can’t get past is the harsh make up. I’m disappointed to say the least.

Way too revealing, and very awkward too. Good neck-up

    Hmmmmmm…. hmmmm

Sad and saggy. The whole bust area is wrong. She is in need of support and the white trim against her equally white skin is a mistake. She is a gorgeous pale beauty with night dark hair. With coloring like hers she could wear color to dramatic perfection. She needs a new stylist because all her potential is being wasted by the current one.

Ghosty makeup and saggy boobs. Awful.
