Laura Carmichael In Vionnet – 2014 SAG Awards

Laura Carmichael In Vionnet - 2014 SAG Awards

Laura Carmichael also took to the red carpet at the 2014 SAG Awards, held on Saturday evening (January 18) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress opted for an asymmetrical, draped design from Vionnet’s Spring 2014 collection.

On this occasion, I’m glad she veered from the more progressive runway version of this glittery, soft metallic-gold dress, skipping the distracting white shirt worn underneath.

She further glamorized the gown with a slate-grey Lauren Merkin ‘Lucca’ oval box clutch, Jerome C. Rousseau black strappy sandals and sparkling Rona Pfeiffer statement jewels, including a sizable wrist cuff, cocktail ring and long bauble pendant earrings.

A spit-slick updo and neutral makeup completed the look.

great dress. I wouldn’t have picked those shoes especially with the dress meant to show off your legs but still that’s a nice look.

Didn’t see this on telly but I love the look. Not sure about the slate-grey sandals but still liking the rest of the styling.
On second thought the shoes aren’t that bad.

I do love the ring, though.

I love the look, I would have lost the bracket though!

  8. easyBlake January 19, 2014 at 07:07 #

I like this very much! I only wish the shoes weren’t so dark, on my screen they almost look black.

Much better the red carpet than the runway, I love the dress

  10. Stel January 19, 2014 at 10:09 #

I love everything except the earrings, a bit too much. The dress is beautiful, much better on her than on the runway.

    I like this!

Shame about the small print, i.e. the accessories, but she’s rocking this. Unexpectedly I might add. Well done, Laura.

How did this girl ever get cast as the plain looking sister? She’s gorgeous.

  17. Anne Gallagher January 20, 2014 at 00:09 #

I like the interesting shape of the hemline, and she makes it work for her.

  18. Betelgeuze January 20, 2014 at 02:54 #

Adore it. The dress is beautiful and just so perfect and though I’d prefer a less tight hairdo, the styling is otherwise gorgeous. Two thumbs up; she was my second best dressed of the event.
Oh, have I mentioned that I love the dress? Swoon.

  19. EmmaWoodhouse January 20, 2014 at 18:58 #

The dress is elegant on her. A statement necklace in a bold color would have been good, plus better shoes. She looks lovely though.
