Lupita Nyong’o In Vintage Valentina – Entertainment Weekly’s SAG Awards Nominees Party

Lupita Nyong'o In Vintage Valentina - Entertainment Weekly's SAG Awards Nominees Party

Lupita Nyong’o attended Entertainment Weekly’s celebration honoring the 2014 SAG Awards nominees, held at the Chateau Marmont on Friday (January 17) in Los Angeles, California joining Kerry Washington and Alyssa Milano.

The breakout star of awards season, who has already exceeded many of our expectations on the red carpet, wore a fancy vintage Valentina dress from New York Vintage for her red carpet look.

Her 60s frock with floral embroidered detailing and colourful bead work was styled with an Amanda Pearl clutch, Paul Andrew pewter pumps and Platt jewels including a hair brooch, which perhaps wasn’t really needed with this look, but I appreciate the efforts to keep her cropped do interesting.

Many of you have said that while you love Lupita’s style, the shoes can often leave a lot to be desired.

In this case I agree. Loving this look from the ankles up.

I agree about the hair brooch and I’m not excited about her shoe choice again, but the rest is very lovely, she looks great.

      +2, the dress is beautiful!

Sweet little number, the hair brooch is a bit silly, not my fave neckline on her and the shoes could’ve been more inspiring. Nice and pretty anyway.

In reality, she doesn’t need to add anything to her hair to make it look interesting, because she sets off her entire look with whatever she wears.

Her hairstylist is taking away from her true beauty and ends up having her come off looking contrived by trying to enhance her hairstyle which doesn’t need enhancing.

Lupita’s confidence shows regardless of how anyone else looks at her. Lupita is a breath of fresh air in a ‘sea’ of sameness.

What a beautiful, beautiful dress. I don’t mind the shoes or the hair brooch, as I can’t stop staring at that lovely dress

Love the dress although it could have been a few inches longer, don’t mind the shoes, but I find the hair brooch so very distracting!

The dress is too twee and the styling is a fail. It’s a NO for me.

Does anyone know who Lupita’s stylist is?

This dress is very pretty on her. I don’t think anyone else could pull it off.

Another great look from Lupita even though I agree with others about the hair brooch. But that dress is heavenly indeed. I don’t mind the shoes on this occasion.

What a cool dress! A shame about the shoes. Could be a BDOTW.
