Keira Knightley In Chanel – ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ LA Premiere

Keira Knightley In Chanel - 'Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit' LA Premiere

Keira Knightley attended the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ held at TCL Chinese Theatre on Wednesday (January 15) in Hollywood, California.

I was surprised there was no grand gown on this occasion, as usually when she makes a return to the red carpet she slays us with an exquisite gown which we instantly add to our BDOTY list, but that wasn’t the case on this occasion.

The look was surprisingly muted, and I find myself really loving it, much to my surprise.

The white-trimmed navy Chanel frock with bow accents might be considered by some as boring, but I find it very chic and sophisticated; something from a bygone era which I can only picture someone else like Cate Blanchett or Michelle Dockery pulling off.

Smoky blue eyes and a wavy updo completed her look.

Fabulous or frumpy?

I love Keira, especially in this look. It’s simple and stays very true to her sense of style. Her makeup, as always, is flawless!

Demure and muted to the point of being dull and matronly. Not her best, I’m completely underwhelmed.

I agree, this look is too mature and aging. I expected more.

I like the dress. The makeup looks a lot better when her face is animated and she is smiling. She has always been a bag of bones and she probably could have worn the dress in a smaller size (if they make one). Shoes are definitely a snooze. This is just not particularly special, but it isn’t dreadful either.

While Keira looks lovely in this dress, I have to admit that I find it a bit too quiet for a red carpet appearance. Her make-up is a bit much…who punched her?

My first thought was that this is what a nun looks like on her day off. Minus the makeup, that is.

  6. Alina January 16, 2014 at 13:42 #

    It’s a no for me.

The eye makeup is a little too much. Should have toned that down and the shoes are OK. I love the dress on her. She can do that vintage look so well.

The dress is beautiful but the styling is just uninspired and awful. The shoes are terrible and the hair is weird. As for the makeup, I like the idea of the heavier hand and it probably would’ve worked if it didn’t look so amateur. Whoever was in charge of her makeup did a very poor job.
And I have to agree with the other comments, she looks very tired. Not her best moment.

Not her best look, but I love the dress, really cute, yes maybe the eye make-up is a little heavier than it could be.

Separate plea, can we just stop with the weight comments please, when it comes to Keira it’s old news.

I really love Keira and her style but I cannot force myself to like this.
From the neck down everything is just a disaster.
Hope she’ll improve during this promo-tour.

I think this whole look looks sad. She is to slim.

First though that come to mind was ‘Night of the living dead’. It’s a no for me!

Usually Keira makes old lady dresses look good but on this occasion I’m feeling bored. I like the makeup though.

  14. Yeliz January 16, 2014 at 11:16 #

    I’ve tried to like this but I don’t. It’s a bit matronly.

  15. Christine January 16, 2014 at 10:58 #

This is aging her. Not liking this.

  16. Valissa January 16, 2014 at 10:53 #

I like this look, the dress is lovely and looks wonderful on her. However, he makeup should’ve been softer and I’m not fond of the shoes either…

  17. stella January 16, 2014 at 10:46 #

I don’t know, I can’t find myself liking any Chanel look… sorry Keira

  18. kane January 16, 2014 at 10:34 #

Sure, the make up is heavy, but it saves the look for me. Not sure if I would go as far as calling it ‘fabulous,’ the make up is so eccentric and OTT I can’t call the look ‘frumpy’. I like it. Just the shoes are a huge let-down, sadly.

    • Anne January 16, 2014 at 13:21 #

The makeup saves me from the ennui

  19. Charlotte January 16, 2014 at 10:31 #

I like the dress but not the belt, I wish the belt was less heavy. And the shoes are uninspired and boring.

  20. msd January 16, 2014 at 10:21 #

The dress is cute in a classic way but the eye makeup is too heavy and the hair is limp.

Also, she looks quite gaunt, and older than she usually does… maybe she was just really tired.

I can’t see past the fact she emaciated in these photos. I know she’s always been thin but this looks scary unhealthy.

    • SilentVisitor January 16, 2014 at 15:36 #

Emanciated? She looks as usual. When has she ever been different?

I think she looks great except the shoes which are dreadful

      • mamaria January 17, 2014 at 09:52 #

        exactly, the shoes are awful
