Get The Look: Cate Blanchett’s 2014 Golden Globes Romantic Makeup Look

Cate Blanchett's 2014 Golden Globes Romantic Makeup LookCate Blanchett went with classic black with her Armani gown, though her makeup artist, Jeanine Lobell wanted to stay away from the classic red lip when it came to Cate’s pout.

“We didn’t want to do the expected red lip to go with her gorgeous Armani black gown,” says Jeanine. “So we went the softer route. No harsh lines. Instead, I blended colors for dimension.”
Jeanine made what was essentially custom lip color for Cate. She mixed Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick in Scarlatto and Boudoir. Her trick? She first applied Scarlatto (a raspberry rose) then applied Boudoir (a nude rose) directly over it.

Cate’s matte, even-toned look all began with prep work. Jeanine prepped Cate’s skin with the SK-II Facial Treatment Mask. Afterwards, she applied the Lancome Translucence Mattifying Silky Press Powder. She layered the Nars Highlighting Blush in Satellite of Love to highlight Cate’s cheekbones, giving her a beautiful flush.

Using the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in Intuition, Jeanine blended the pinky-beige and goldy-beige shades together and dusted them from lid to lash line. She then used the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Emervielle for a hint of colour to add dimension without the need for liner. Countless coats of Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Custome Volume mascara were used to really make Cate’s lashes pop.

To complete Cate’s look, Jeanine used the Nars Brow Shader and Brow Gel to create a defined, but not-too-harsh brow.
