Berenice Bejo In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Berenice Bejo In Giambattista Valli Couture - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Bérénice Bejo was another lady-in-red at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

She didn’t shy away from the drama in her crimson-hued Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture confection.

Despite the powerfully potent colour, the rest of the gown just seemed to be overwhelming on the petite actress—from the bold shoulder to the flurry of floral-like embellishment, even the diaphanous long train.

Perhaps the added lining of the skirt, which was not seen on the runway, was the root of the heaviness here.

Likewise, she certainly didn’t require as many pieces from the Dior Fine Jewelry collection, despite how stunning they were. The hoop earrings needed to disappear.

While I appreciated the artistry of the gown, I couldn’t shake the fact that it seemed to detract rather than enhance Bérénice’s natural beauty. The dress ultimately seemed to be wearing her. What do you think?

Definitely looks better on the runway.

      ITA.

It looks downright sloppy on her.

Maybe it’s because of the lighting but I like the color of the gown on the runway. And I think if she sported a ponytail instead, this would’ve been a great look for me. :)

Ill fitted and also the lined skirt looks a bit cheap. I don’t like this.

Awkward, unflattering and plain bizarre. It’s a miss for her.

This is a contender for worst dressed.

One of the worst of the night, if not THE worst. Sorry Bérénice, I love you, I do.

A shorter jacket with a subtle belt for definition would have imporved this look to no end, it is lacking tailoring and definition, which is why it looks so sloppy. Also, had the flower started a little lower down on the jacket they wouldn’t cover her waist.

The dress doesn’t do a justice to her body.

I appreciate the risk but it is too much going on.

The non-sheer skirt makes it look so bulky! :/

With those flowery things this dress never stood a chance with me, lined or unlined.

Worst dressed of the night, possibly even a contender for Worst dressed of the year.

She reminds me of Paula Patton and that is hardly a compliment.
