Zooey Dechanel In Oscar de la Renta – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Zooey Dechanel In Oscar de la Renta - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Zooey Dechanel arrived at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) rocking her signature quirky-meets-girly style.

The ‘New Girl’ actress picked a pale gold look from Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 comprised of a cropped, beaded, cap sleeve top paired with an embroidered, tulle ball skirt. She accessorised with studded Oscar de la Renta pumps, a Charlotte Olympia box clutch, and Neil Lane jewels.

Zooey added her touch of quirk with a messy side bun topped with flowers and daisy nail art.

As evidenced by the runway image of this look, the skirt looks better in motion than standing still, which isn’t ideal for a red carpet. But Zooey feels great in the outfit and it suits her personal style.

Same old Zooey. Now in champagne.

  • Mare

The shoes sort of “close” the dress…would go better with high sandals. Looks to “granny”.

  • dee

    I think she looks gorgeous.

  • Sanya

I like the outfit, but the hairstyle makes her older.

  • Jess2

Not feeling this. I feel that is both too mature and too cutesy which doesn’t even make sense.

  • Fiona – Perth

I appreciate her love of vintage and this look would evoked a retro feel without being a costume. Glad she gave away the heavy bangs for once – the earrings were to die for.

  • Nat

    Granny look.

  • Wish she had lost the bracelet, it adds nothing to the look. Zooey looks really nice but I am still waiting for the day Zooey steps outside of her comfort zone.

  • AnderBoBo

She looks like a matronly flower girl, not her best look.

  • Serenity

I do like that she has her own style, but I’m not a fan of the flower-in-the-hair look. Not for the Globes. I do like the textures and the matching heels. She’s adorable…which on second thought, at her age, probably isn’t so uch of a compliment.

  • Kat

Individually, the pieces are divine! I wish it translated well, because overall it comes off as messy and unflattering.

  • Nat39

A bit too one-note pale for my liking, and I’m not too keen on tulle skirts in general, and def. could live w/o that flower (although I can give it a pass as a touch of personality). It’s not gonna be one of fave looks but she looks lovely enough.

This dress was STUNNING on E’s Red Carpet, along with her flowered nail art, and vintage earrings. The texture on the dress and shoes was divine.

The pictures to not do it justice.

  • Angela

While I would’ve amped up this look via pops of turquoise/peach, her execution is good also. Like the studded pumps. Not a fan of the red lip.

  • Anne Gallagher

Such a lovely dress, but I agree it is one to sashay down the red carpet in, not to stand still in.

  • AW

This is probably better in person but overall I kinda hate it. The color is doubty against her skin and the bang is too heavy imho.

  • Yeliz

Don’t like the hairstyle with that flower, but I do like the gown on her. She looks nice overall.

    • Alina

      I agree.

  • Christine

This is not a great angle but in motion it looks beautiful. I like this on her.
