Hair Trend Spotting: People’s Choice Awards Effortless Updos

Red Carpet Trends People’s Choice Awards Effortless Updo’s

Awards season has official begun with a stylish start. All eyes were on the fashionable ladies of the night at the People’s Choice Awards and each stylish attendee featured looks more stunning than the next. While there were many notable looks on the red carpet, many starlets chose sport a more relaxed glam look for tonight’s festivities. Effortless and textured up-do’s were seen throughout the event and we’ve rounded up some of the best looks and tips to achieve them yourself.

Sarah Michelle Gellar: Sarah’s voluminous, messy up-do wonderfully complimented her chic black and white Sachin + Babi Spring 2014 dress. To get this full hairstyle, prep your hair with Bumble & Bumble’s prêt-a-powder by dusting at the roots and blending product with your fingers. Gather hair at the crown and pin into a poof. Spray remaining hair with Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray and pull remaining hair into a chic twist.

Lucy Hale: Lucy’s elegant yet graceful up-do appropriately fit the young star’s style. A low, messy and modern bun was framed by loose waves parted in the middle. The secret to her full and shiny tresses is treating hair before it is styled. Try Frederic Fekkai’s Full Blown Volume Styling Whip before you blow out your hair for maximum fullness and glamorous shine.

Anna Faris: Anna makes the ponytail glamorous and chic once again. Brow-grazing fringe bangs and face-framing wisps highlighted her texturized ponytail. While the look still looked polished, a slightly backcombed crown made the otherwise simple style a bit more glam. For that full textured look, a great spray like Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Texture & Volume Spray does the trick. Spraying before styling helps manipulate hair into a proper look while maintaining long-lasting results.

Allison Williams: As usual, ‘Girls’ star, Allison Williams shimmered on the red carpet in a polished low ponytail. While her smile is usually the feature that’s shining, it was her lustrous locks that were doing all the shining last night. To get Allison’s sophisticated side parted ponytail, blow out hair straight with a flat bore bristle brush and spray hair with a finishing shine spray, like Ouidad’s Frizz & Flyaway Fighter Taming Shine Spray. The shine spray will keep hair looking touchable and smooth all night.
