Julia Roberts In Givenchy – ‘August: Osage County’ LA Premiere

Julia Roberts In Givenchy - ‘August Osage County’ LA Premiere

Julia Roberts joined co-star Juliette Lewis on the red carpet at the Regal Cinemas L.A. Live on Monday (December 16) for the ‘August: Osage County’ LA premiere.

Kim Basinger’s well-tailored look is a tough act to follow. Not all of you were enamored by it, so is this Givenchy menswear-inspired look more to your liking?

There was a time Julia wearing a suit would have me nodding off, but this single-button shawl-collar tuxedo blazer paired with a dress combining a crisp white tuxedo shirt and black skirt is nothing to snooze at.

It’s a classic, timeless look, to which she added sexy strappy Givenchy bondage sandals.

Not liking this. A bit dull to my liking

  2. Alina December 17, 2013 at 12:59 #

    Boring.

I could have liked this but the skirt part is not working !
I like the hair, the make up and the shoes though.

    She looks great!

From the waist up the look is OK. But the skirt isn’t flattering, the sandals are cut too high on the toes and that flat footed stance makes it all that much worse. Don’t love.

    This is awful.

Not feeling any love for this, the skirt’s doing her no favours

I have a feeling that this could’ve worked better without the blazer.

Same comment as for the blue Proenza: I love how this woman is OK to play the red carpet game without taking it seriously – I love how much confidence this shows compared to Juliette Lewis ballgown (who is not badly dressed but looks like she’s trying too hard to steal the spotlight when Julia has it all on her without much effort) – I sometimes think that Julia in a way makes people look overdressed at any event – like when she shows up in a simple vintage LBD at the Golden Globes and still remains the biggest (or one of the biggest) star in the room when all the others are going for gowns and embroidery – the fact that she still is able to capture the spotlight makes her a bigger star in a way – a star who is also above the red carpet game – and I am not necessarily a big fan of hers but I admire her approach

I agree with you, Ramsey..although I am a fan. Seems Ms Roberts just gets better and better.

Everything works but the skirt. A sharp pair of pants would have been so much better. The pix of her with Meryl Streep (who looked spectacular at this event) are just great–her hair and makeup are gorgeous here.

Ugh, she looks like a frumpy waiter

With some earrings and seriously sleeler shoes, this would work. It’s effortlessly chic.

I like the close up, but it’s a rather unflattering ensemble as a whole.
