Vanessa Hudgens In Maria Lucia Hohan - 25th Birthday Party

Vanessa Hudgens celebrated her 25th birthday with a celebratory party held at No Vacancy on Saturday (December 14) in Hollywood, California with her boyfriend Austin Butler.

The actress channelled her inner 40s screen siren wearing a Maria Lucia Hohan blush-coloured gown, amping up the look with white satin opera gloves accented with Jenny Packham jewels, a fur stole and silver satin embellished clutch.

Her sultry, mysteriously sexy femme-fatale look was styled with Veronica Lake long wavy locks for the finishing touch.

Did she nail the look for you without looking to costumey?

Because she is normally a miss on the red carpet. That bohemian chic look only work for some. Sometimes she pulls off, majority of the times she does not lol.

Of course it looks like a costume, but a good one. It was her birthday party so I think she was right to wear what she wanted. xD You can never be overdressed for your own party *lol*. Personally, I think she would have looked even more on spot if she had pulled back her hair into a shiny 40s updo.

I don’t like the gloves at all, definitely costumey. Dress is ok, but I wish I could see it without the dead fox draped over her. What are the little crystal pencils tucked into her waistband?

Those were my very same qualms. I hate fur, and those crystals look like Christmas tree lights stuck in her waist band. I think she looks glam and gorge, nonetheless.

Here’s the thing – yes, it was her birthday but this just really reeks of trying too hard. Either her other guests didn’t get the theme, or it was a theme of 1.

I don’t get the hate either. I don’t necessarily hate ‘costume’ if it’s at a party or a festive special occassion–I think people should have fun with fashion.

She looks glamorous and very beautiful.
