Zawe Ashton In Sarah Baadarani – British Independent Film Awards 2013

Zawe Ashton In Sarah Baadarani - British Independent Film Awards 2013Zawe Ashton was also among the guest list at the British Independent Film Awards 2013, hosted at Old Billingsgate Market in London on Sunday night.

The British star covered up in a long-sleeve Sarah Baadarani crew-neck column gown in a soft, dove-grey shade.

There was hardly the hint of an accessory or jewel to be found here, which mirrored the simple style of the dress. Zawe also kept her swept-back hair and bronzed makeup on the casual side.

With such a minimalistic approach, the details must be spot-on. So, the slight wrinkles permeating the gown were more noticeable than I’d like. I was also wishing for some sort of statement sparkle to define the look.

Lovely or just too lacklustre?

I would say neither. This is just an average look, nevertheless, she has interpreted the minimalist vibe of the dress very well and I’m not too sure what the result would have been had she added some sparkle. However, the wrinkles and creases are unforgivable in this case. I love the fit of the gown otherwise and her hair and make up too.

The gown is lovely in its simplicity, creating an elegant silhouette, but her presentation is way too lackluster – the wrinkles are distracting and some subtle jewels to elevate the look and better hair and makeup wouldn’t have hurt.

      Agree 100%.
And, as Creole Lady (below) says, the sleeves and skirt are too long.

TeamLackluster. I don’t mind minimalism, but this has nothing going for itself.

    Not feeling this.

So close. But all I can see are the too long hem and sleeves.

I like this. Shame about the crinkles but the cut and fit is gorgeous and the colour is special. I love how she’s done her hair and make up, best overall look for her I’ have seen so far

    This is boring.

Ill-fitted, boring, uninspired, poor styling. It’s a NO.

I think this is a great look for her and fits like a second skin. I do with theogre about the crease but apart from that I love the look.
