Nina Dobrev In Elie Saab – The Trevor Project’s ‘TrevorLIVE LA’ Event Honouring Jane Lynch

Nina Dobrev In Elie Saab - The Trevor Project's 'TrevorLIVE LA' Event Honouring Jane Lynch

Nina Dobrev attended The Trevor Project’s ‘TrevorLIVE LA’ event honouring Jane Lynch at the Hollywood Palladium in California on Sunday evening.

Usually the ‘Vampires Diaries’ actress showcases her toned pins in shorts or ultra-short minis, but on this occasion she went Hollywood glam wearing an Elie Saab Spring 2013 blue sleeveless gown featuring a lace bodice, pointy collar and button detailing.

A Rauwolf silver clutch, sapphire Swarovski earrings and a selection of silver John Hardy Bamboo Collection bangles accessorized her look, with a braided updo and soft-pink lips rounding out her look.

She looks lovely, but the ill-fitting top half makes her look very top heavy.

Loving the dress but why no bra? Her boobs need a boost.

  3. Alex December 9, 2013 at 11:42 #

I think this look is incredibly ageing and unflattering. The hair also makes her look older.

I completely agree. I normally ADORE Nina and her choices, but this is a fail. WAY to mature on her. Also, I prefer the royal blue runway color sooooo much more.

Agree with both comments above^^. This look is so mumsy! I can’t believe that a) I don’t like an Elie Saab gown, and b) that it’s on Nina Dobrev–all because the overall look is so antiquated!

  4. Charlotte December 9, 2013 at 11:42 #

She should have wear a bra !

  5. Valissa December 9, 2013 at 11:52 #

No. The dress looks…depressed? I don’t know any other way to put it! I don’t like it

  6. Zissou December 9, 2013 at 11:52 #

    It’s very downstairs.

      Ha!

  7. Yeliz December 9, 2013 at 12:11 #

Her pose is always bothering me and this look is no exception. The styling is good though.

Her posture and lack of support are making this incredibly difficult to look at. Bit had the lining been closer to Nina’s skin tone I could have been persuaded to like this look. Sadly it’s a giant no for me.

Most women look great in Elie Saab gowns, but not for Nina this time. The lack of bra/support makes it look terrible.

      +1

People have been complaining about her pose before and here I can really see why. Her posture is bothering me mucho. The dress deserved better.

    • Christine December 9, 2013 at 13:06 #

Agreed. she needs to learn new poses. This pose is making her dress look unflattering at certain angles.

  11. Christine December 9, 2013 at 13:05 #

Not sold on this look. Pretty but something is missing.

    • Alina December 9, 2013 at 14:03 #

      A BRA!

  12. Christine December 9, 2013 at 13:23 #

Also, looking at the other attendees at the event, she appears overdressed. A bit OTT.

  13. dee December 9, 2013 at 14:12 #

The top part of the dress doesn’t look like it fits well. I wish the color were more vibrant like it looks on the runway.

  14. liz December 9, 2013 at 14:22 #

this is horrible. it looks so great on the model and on her it just falls completely flat. blech!

  15. Cristina December 9, 2013 at 14:58 #

Nina seems to have lost her red carpet sparkle here.
Not a fan of this look, it really ages her.
And now that everyone mentioned it, she needed a bra.

The first person to come to mind looking at the runway picture is Fan Bing Bing, so I’m disappointed the look was let down by the styling and tailoring. Love the clutch, though.

This style doesn’t feel Nina Dobrev – it feels like it was forced upon her by the stylist or something. It’s not right, either way. There no personality in the look, and she doesn’t seem as confident as I’ve seen her at other events.

  18. Prudence December 9, 2013 at 15:49 #

NO ONE IN HER TEAM COULD TELL HER SHE NEEDED A BRA????

  19. Lee December 9, 2013 at 16:51 #

I like the Bold Cobalt blue from the runway much better

  20. the ogre December 9, 2013 at 19:22 #

This is the first time that I don’t like something presented By Nina Dobrev at all. The bodice ruins the dress for me completely. I can’t help but compare how beautiful it looks on the runway. Apart from that this is a very aging look for her.

  21. andrea December 9, 2013 at 20:25 #

Absolutely not. And put on a bra!!

  22. molly December 9, 2013 at 20:48 #

This is a very sad little look, isnt it? Her awful posture doesnt help matters nor does the styling.
The runway color is much better as well.

This is why our Mothers always told us to stand up straight.

  24. Larissa December 11, 2013 at 13:08 #

For the first time ever I don’t like Nina here. She doesn’t look confident at all in this gown and the colour is kind of dull compared to the runway one. This is so not her style, she can do way better- Just imagine her in the sparkling gown in the background!!!

  25. CNorth December 18, 2013 at 16:31 #

Why does the color look so drab off the runway?
