Katy Perry was recently appointed UNICEF’s newest Goodwill Ambassador during a special event at UNICEF Headquarters in New York, where she will focus on engaging young people in the agency’s work to improve the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children and adolescents.
The pop star wore a tulle dress with macramé lace details from the Blumarine Spring 2014 collection. While curve-hugging and slightly sheer in places, the design still translated as quietly sophisticated and appropriate.
Although it was more subdued, the abstracted butterfly pattern on the dress added a moment of more whimsical quirk to which we are accustomed when it comes to Katy.
Nude Christian Louboutin pumps and a minimal makeup approach completed her look. With all the neutral tones, were you left craving some colour from the punch of a bold shoe or the pop of a bright lip?

I agree, it is a beautiful dress and a classy look for her.
she looks FAB 🙂 she is perfect in Blumarine….I love this dress
She’s Katy Perry. She wears twirling lollipop bras. This was perfectly appropriate. No cleavage, knee-length, no flesh peeking through. I’m sure UNICEF was perfectly pleased. I don’t mind the lack of a color pop on this occasion, and I love the butterfly theme from this ccollection. I think this look suits both the quirky and the grown-up sides of Katy.
I see your point, but the opposite of provocative is not one-note. It’s very possible to look conservative and mature without resorting to an all-nude palette.
I’m so over these kinds of dresses, especially if they just don’t work on closer inspection. Also can’t believe that this was the best and most appropriate look she could find for a UNICEF event.
I like it, she looks pretty.
She looks lovely.
I agree. She isn’t showing anything, so I don’t get why this would not be appropriate.
Nice, demure look.
