Clemence Poesy In Valentino – x Valentino Dinner

Clemence Poesy In Valentino - Mytheresacom x Valentino Dinner

Following a red carpet appearance at the 2013 British Fashion Awards on Monday night, Clemence Poesy headed to Berlin, Germany on Wednesday evening for the x Valentino dinner party held at the Neues Museum.

She wore a typical Valentino – feminine, elegant and oh so ladylike – lace gown which hits all the right style notes. From the fit-and-flare silhouette and delicate macramé lace to the winter-white hue, on its own it was sure to turn heads.

Not resting on her laurels, the French actress took this look to another level, adding bright neon-yellow accessories including a studded Valentino clutch and pretty pumps, with a stack of silver earrings lining her ear that read not-so-innocent.

I don’t get how anyone liked this look, the proportions are so wrong it’s making her look like a midget.

The lace is gorgeous but the dress is too granny for her.

I don’t like this look at all. She looks like she’s playing dress ups in her Mums wedding dress and what is the ear piece about?

the long sleeved, lace gown is slowly becoming 2013’s overused trick. its slowly becoming what the bandage dress was in 2008 for me. its supposed to be like an anti-fashion, wearing grandma’s clothes thing but now EVERY week there is a starlet walking a carpet in one. zzzzzzzzzz

I’m on the fence with this one. She looks like a little munchkin-and not in a good way-due in great part to the length. But it is styled well, and it looks pretty on her. I just don’t love it….but I don’t hate it either.

Isn’t it the same dress that Clotilde Courau wore this week, but in yellow?

This gown looks too bridal to me, even the neon accessories can’t change that.

Don’t like the ear piece or shoes. I like the dress and bag.

I love the dress- but she looks really compressed in it- like alittle person or a child in grown up clothes.I think this dress is for a taller person.

Love the idea of this but she looks teeny tiny. It would have been perfect a few inches shorter, hitting just before the ankle. She looks drowned and it looks like it hasn’t been tailored to fit.

A bridal-esque one-note lace dress – doesn’t excite me, and the matching neon accessories look forced.

I would’ve liked this more if the dress were either longer or shorter. It’s very weird the it is. It made her look way too small. But I do like the colour contrast.

After some thinking, I agree with you. I think that is what’s slightly off for me. I really wish the dress was longer, so that we wouldn’t see the shoes. As noted above I love the ear cuff and the neon clutch, but whenever I scroll over the picture in the BDOTW poll my heart sinks when I get to the shoes. They look forced to me, a tad too trying-too-hard, maybe it’s the all too matchy colour, maybe it’s that they look like boring/ordinary/mumsy ballet flats. Maybe it would have been fine for me if they looked a bit edgier, but my guess is one neon element would have sufficed to make this “effortless.” Two are one too much.

Ehm, I was *thinking* about ear cuff and clutch when writing my first comment, but they actually didn’t end up in it, ooops.

    This is beautiful!

BDOTW worthy. I love the juxtaposition of the ladylike lace with the edge of the neon, studs, and earrings.

  17. kane December 6, 2013 at 16:32 #

I’m somewhat conflicted about the neon shoes, but this is awesome!

  18. Renem December 6, 2013 at 16:25 #

Pretty dress, great styling. BDOTW WORTHY.

  19. Pedro December 6, 2013 at 16:25 #

Clemence looks flawless! Perfection from h-2-t

    BDOTW for sure

I love this look. It’s so effortless yet so clearly, carefully planned. She has been doing great lately!

    • Alina December 6, 2013 at 17:17 #

      I agree!

She looks really small but nevertheless it’s a great look.
