Children's Defense Fund's 23rd Annual Beat The Odds Awards

Celebrities showed their support of the Children’s Defense Fund’s 23rd Annual Beat The Odds Awards held at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California on Thursday evening.

Reese Witherspoon: The actress, who was sporting a shorter hairstyle, wore a blue Michael Kors camouflage-jacquard sheath dress with black panels, which she styled with Casadei ‘Blade’ pumps with a gold ankle strap. You may remember that Sigourney Weaver wore this same dress last month.

Katie Lowes: Keeping up the sleeveless-dress–black-pump trend at this event, the ‘Scandal’ actress donned a Rachel Roy printed dress with body-contouring black panels, which she styled with a Paula Cademartori ‘Kate’ black leather bag with gold hardware.

Jennifer Garner: The actress hasn’t worn anything exciting, note-worthy or memorable lately, and this black Valentino dress with a white lace overlay keeps that track record going.

They are all dressed event appropriately, with Reese the standout here for me.

If anything, I actually only have eyes for the look book presentation of the Sigourney-Reese dress. Reese and Jennifer look fine, but I’m not too excited about anything here.

Yet somehow Jennifer looks the best of the three- unexciting but very pretty and makes her look so much younger.

I’m sorry but I’m always mesmerized by Jennifer Garner’s lovely face. I love her here and then obviously Reese.

Why is Jennifer Garner so boring? Reese looks good, thank you for identifying who wore that dress prior, it would’ve driven me nuts.

Jennifer’s dress may not be noteworthy, but it’s a charity event. It’s tasteful and appropriate. She’s not there to make a fashion statement, she’s there because she cares. Save the wow moments for the hunger games premiere.
