Sandra Bullock In Carolina Herrera – ‘Gravity’ Tokyo Premiere

Sandra Bullock In Carolina Herrera - 'Gravity' Tokyo Premiere

Following yesterday’s red-hot press conference, Sandra Bullock took to the red carpet again this evening for the ‘Gravity’ premiere in Tokyo, Japan.

This time she opted for a very elegant Carolina Herrera Resort 2014 sculptural strapless silk faille navy-blue dress featuring a flounce skirt with a contrast sheer floral lace underlay.

I really like the simplicity of the look, but the black satin Charlotte Olympia platform pumps feel so heavy with the delicate hemline. The look book heels would’ve been perfect.

Martin Katz jewels, matte nude lips and a wavy updo provided the finishing touches.

Are the shoes a deal-breaker?

You can buy Sandra’s Carolina Herrera Silk Faille Strapless Dress from Saks.com and Saks.com UK.

Those platforms make me weep. The stripey sandals would have gone so incredibly well with the lines in the exquisite underskirt. Spot on, FC!

      Completely agree.

Love the dress, hair & makeup. The shoes do take it out of BDOTW contention for me, though.

      ITA.

I think a black belt would have balanced the shoes quite well. As it is, I feel like the shoes are too heavy.

Hollywood stylist are too pathetic to ever not go with the full runway presentation which 9.9 out of 10 is always better than wat they end up doing

I love this dress and she looks so good I can forgive the shoes- eventhough she is my “don’t know why others think she is pretty list”

-1; I am sure she cares and it is very important that she is on your list.

Totally agree with FC; Great dress…….

        Really??

      • Sophy December 6, 2013 at 00:30 #

I kno she doesnt care – its my opinion just like other people have their irrational love or hate list!

Flawless dress but the shoes… ugh

  7. Christine December 5, 2013 at 17:35 #

The shoes ruin the look for me.

+1. My eye can see nothing else. Otherwise lovely.

Like others the shoes prevent me from liking this look.

Sandra Bullock has never looked better than the past 2 years and her style is spot on as well. The shoes don’t bother me as much as everyone. But this dress is regal!

I adore the dress – the flattering shape it creates, the colour, the original pretty hemline. The shoes do bring the look down – too heavy, don’t even have to be sandals, even simple but light elegant pumps (like on the model below) would’ve worked just fine.

those shoes are bad. other than that everything is perfect.

  12. Susan December 5, 2013 at 19:12 #

    She looks great. Love it.

I like this look. The shoes are not a problem for me. However, back in September Adriana Lima wore the same dress during Novak Djokovic foundation dinner in New York, and I think Adriana looked better.

  14. Joy December 5, 2013 at 19:54 #

Yeah, the shoes are not my favorite with this dress. The shoes are great, just not with this dress. I have to agree with others, Sandra has stepped her game a lot in recent years. I love how she is always classy, sexy and interesting. This ladylike dress is simple yet so interesting. Love the blue color too!

The shoes has open toe – and therefor they are okay with the look – so I like it!!!

  16. Lee Ann December 5, 2013 at 23:24 #

Dress is great shoes not so much

She’s one of my favourites from Hollywood. She’s gorgeous, smart and confident. This reflects constantly in what she wears too. I love this dress and her hair and make up too. She looks beautiful in this. Its just sad about the shoes because she has worn some really cool shoes throughout the promo tour. I so wish she had worn those lookbook shoes.

I must dissent. I like the dress conceptually, and think Sandra looks better than the model even, but I think the dress gives one the silhouette of Mr. Peanut. Just not my kind of odd.

Hi FC! Your fellow blogger Jessica over at Go Fug Yourself, totally agrees with you on your assessment of Sandra’s dress, and especially regarding her shoes! As do I!

Just thought you would be tickled to know! :)
