Naomie Harris In Alexander McQueen – ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’ Royal Premiere

Naomie Harris In Alexander McQueen - 'Mandela Long Walk To Freedom' Royal Premiere

Naomie Harris attended the royal premiere of ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’ alongside Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge this evening.

I have been gushing over Naomie for a while now, and she continues to prove that the high-praise is justified in her Alexander McQueen gown.

The black strapless gown with gold embroidery enriching the peplum detailing may just be her best look yet, and I’m not just referring to this promo tour.

It fits to perfection; she oozes glamour and sex appeal, and the impeccable styling, including the hair and makeup, puts this on another level of brilliance.

This just might be a late contender for my BDOTY list.

You can buy Naomie’s Alexander McQueen Strapless Peplum Gown from Neiman Marcus.

Not my BDOTY but this is fantastic. Love the embellishments–exquisite!!!
Speaking of BDOTY, I’ve narrowed mine to 40. Trying to pick my top twenty…it’s killing me.

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. This is a case example of when less can be more. It is indeed “a black dress” but the fit, the embroidery, the silhouette, the hair, the make-up….FLAWLESS

Stunning! And McQueen was the perfect choice for this occasion.

Breathtaking beautiful. Such a knockout with not very much. I have to say it is hard to beat Lupita Nyong’o as the promo tour star of this year (she was incredible at every red carpet for 12 years a slave) but Naomie is a great second place with all her great looks for Mandela.

this is flawless. the dress fits her perfectly, no lumps, creases, nothing. she looks great.this is how you rock a black dress.

    Naomi looks gorgeous!

BDOTW for sure… BDOTY? No way.

  7. Marta December 6, 2013 at 08:39 #

I agree with prudence. She looks gorg but certainly FAR from BDOTY let’s be real. It’s, at the end of the day, a plain black gown with gold embroidery. Now this is a gorgeous dress, yes, but BDOTY would have been her rocking a not so boring hairdo or not just plain gold drop earrings. I mean really.

I agree. Elizabeth Banks’ Alexander McQueen gown for the Paris premiere is more BDOTY worthy than this… I do think this is very pretty, maybe BDOTW worthy, but definitely not on my BDOTY list.

This was my favorite look from the McQueen collection, but I wasn’t expecting this from Naomie, just WOW!

this is lovely but lets not get carried away with the bdoty talk. at the end of the day it is rather simple and will easily be forgotten. this year I do not have a single bdoty contender, there is literally not a single look that has stood out.

I agree about this look being overrated. Maybe because it’s December and we’re running out of days in the year, people are more eager to convince themselves a look is better than it actually is…? To each their own, I guess. This dress is literally just a black peplum gown with some gold embellishments across the flaps. To me, the placement seems quite awkward and arbitrary. It would’ve made so much more sense to spread the embellishments out over different areas of the dress, or maybe in a gradient effect. Instead it draws all of the attention to the hip area and looks like a bunch of leftover scraps were dumped there at the last minute.

BDOTY contender for sure. Simply flawless!

  13. DM December 6, 2013 at 04:23 #

Agree with the comments here…simply stunning, memorable, and WOW.
The gown itself is dramatic enough, but her styling is flawless. Her skin in particular looks so luminous. What a wonderful look so close to the end of the year!

Right? She is literally lighting up the red carpet.

What a showstopper! Not an ounce of this gown’s potential was wasted – she’s like a walking showcase of beauty and grace. It’s all so effortless.

I’ve been waiting to see this gown, and I am so glad to see it on her. She looks absolutely divine. This is one of my favorite looks from her.

  21. Nat39 December 5, 2013 at 23:48 #

She is truly stunning in this gown. The sleek silhouette is gorgeous while the embroidered peplum adds structure and makes a bold statement. So very beautiful, poised and statuesque, she carries this look magnificently. Hands down, a gorgeous BDOTW contender and my fave look from her yet.

    • Nat39 December 6, 2013 at 00:11 #

…and a contender for my BDOTY list as well.

      • Serenity December 6, 2013 at 01:19 #

I can’t add anything to this perfect description. Best of the week and strong for best of the year.
