Amy Adams In David Koma – ‘American Hustle’ LA Screening

Amy Adams In David Koma - 'American Hustle' LA Premiere

Amy Adams attended the LA screening of ‘American Hustle’ held at Directors Guild Theater in West Hollywood, California yesterday evening.

I am sure you have all noticed a slight shift style-wise as Amy has been experimenting with her look more, but on this occasion it’s a no from me.

Her David Koma Spring 2014 dress with the black-and-white bodice and white skirt was working for me until I got to the sheer hem.

The sheer trend isn’t going to go away any time soon, so while I tried to embrace it here, I think it brings down the look. Possibly a solid white skirt would’ve looked better here.

I’m really disappointed because everything else – from the hair to the intense eyes and bejewelled Christian Louboutin ‘Body Strass’ pumps – is on point with this look.

Wow this is bad…Flawless hair and makeup though. I am always blown away by horrible misses. Yes, the stylist suggested it in the first place, but she couldn’t see how awful this was for herself? I’ve been styling clients for 20 years. When it’s awful, we always know it!

I guess I’m the only one not bothered that much by the sheer hem. I love the styling and also the rest of the dress, so I can give the sheer hem a pass.

I hate everything about this dress. The sheer part, the dumb proportions and how the top of the dress makes her torso look incredibly boxy. Really like the earrings tho!

Oh dear! I’m absolutely vexed by the sheer part of the dress because the rest of her look is so amazing! The hair, make up and accessories are all on point. It’s sad about that dress. The sheer overlay doesn’t make any sense.

If it must have the sheer, I wish there was less of it. It hits at such an odd length with too much of the sheer fabric; it throws the proportion off.

ITA. The white portion should have stopped at the knee. As it is, it’s tragic!

+2. I might have even liked it had the sheer portion been less expansive. Her styling is excellent, making the dress, itself, even more disappointed.
