Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture – Marrakech International Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture - Marrakech International Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Marion Cotillard graced the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the 13th Marrakech International Film Festival last Friday night in Marrakech, Morocco.

The French actress and Lady Dior beauty showed us another look from the Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture collection, with a black-and-cream gown in an allover dotted print that had a vaguely exotic, tribal spirit.

The front silhouette of the dress was beguilingly simple. But the view from the back was a bit more complex, with a mock keyhole cape-like detail that bustled into a slight train.

Skipping the runway’s long matching gloves, she warmed up the styling with a soft, side-parted updo, along with the flick of a black cat-eye and a blush-nude lip.

I think the dress looks better on the runway and edgier, with the gloves. On Marion, it’s a bit lackluster, but she still looks good.

Can’t believe this gown is Dior…

The print is dull, one-note and uninspiring, I find it hard to get excited about this look.

I’m just very disappointed by this look. I know she has to wear Dior but why this may I ask. This dress makes her look bulky and dumpy in a way. I don’t understand why she would wear this. Only her hair and make up are the saving grace.

The gown is OK. I like her hair and makeup.

I might be the only one here but I actually really like this look. I think she looks gorgeous and I love her hair and makeup.

      I do too.

Her styling is nice, but I don’t like the gown. It’s too shapeless for my tastes.

Can someone please get her out of the Dior contract? It’s getting more and more tiring

she looks shapeless in that dress, almost like she’s wearing a tent

Dior should feel ashamed to have such a dress

Agreed, but she did not have to pick it.

marion needs to call up jean paul gaultier and get her mojo back. she is a consistent hot mess in dior these days.

too long for her/does not fit well

This is NOT a dress for the red carpet. I can see it in an optical illusion-inspired magazine editorial, but definitely not at a film festival. It’s just awkward and strange, without being aesthetically intriguing.

I don’t particularly like this dress on either the model or on Marion, especially from the front.

The print might work better with a knee-length dress, preferably belted. With a gown, it’s too much like curtains, or a tablecloth, or a big bolt of fabric — too great an expanse of that little print, without any breaks and folds.
(I’m not sure I’m communicating this well!)

I actually liked this dress on the runway. Not liking this on Marion. Can’t stand the creases and it looks so bulky and big on her.

    • Sleepless in Chicago December 2, 2013 at 17:49 #

Agreed. The runway look looks crisp and eddy with the gloves. Marion’s look is under accessorized and boring.
