Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Promo Tour Beauty Looks

Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘The Hunger Games Catching Fire’ Promo Tour Beauty Looks

When Jennifer Lawrence debuted a new pixie cut mere days before heading into the promotional tour for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, all of us red carpet trackers drew a united gasp of excitement in anticipation of how the star would style her new ‘do for her highly photographed next few weeks. And, I think I can speak for us all when I say that she not only didn’t disappoint in the hair department, but she also gave us some stunning makeup looks, as well. While her co-star, Elizabeth Banks kept things a bit more safe, Jennifer played to her young age and really took some risks, which paid off quite well for her.

In Madrid, the star really played up the piecey cut of her pixie, and went for a daring, angular, spiked out look–which she pulls off amazingly well. For her makeup, the inky blue and black modern cat eye is perfectly balanced with a downright girly berry-stained, glossy lip. In Paris, Jennifer took another risk, and ended up looking as high-fashion and intrinsically ‘Parisian’ as Elizabeth Banks did that night (link to the Elizabeth Banks beauty round-up post). By starting off with a pale foundation, Jennifer’s makeup artist ensured that every other aspect of the beauty look would really draw the eye. Her ultra-dark red lip, the perfectly sculpting cheek bones, and the kohl-rimmed eyes are stunning, and the slicked down hair completes this look that really does deserve every bit of buzz it’s been getting. To get a lip as vampy as Jennifer’s, try Dior’s Addict Extreme Lipstick in Black Tie.

In Los Angeles, Jennifer’s look is slightly reminiscent of her Madrid look, but is definitely a softer version. Her hair has a slightly tousled effect, while her eyes are a more muted, smokey blue. Her glossy pink lips are also a deeper hue of pink. If you’re interested in emulating Jennifer’s look, this is probably a bit ‘safer’ for us mere mortals, since everything is softer. To recreate her smokey blue eyes, try experimenting with the shades in Dior’s 5-Colour Designer All-In-One Artistry Palette in Navy Design–it should have every colour you need to get the gorgeous look.

In New York, Jennifer further experimented with the range of her pixie by pushing much of it forward and leaving the ends wispy. Her makeup had a warm, golden quality to it, due in part to the bronzed cheeks, and almost naturally-coloured lipstick. The heavy, brown eyeshadow is winged out above and below the eye to complete the warm and sultry look. To get similar contouring on your cheeks, go with a matte bronzer like Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder.
