Rooney Mara In Balenciaga – ‘Her’ Rome Film Festival Premiere

Rooney Mara In Balenciaga - 'Her' Rome Film Festival Premiere

Rooney Mara joined Scarlett Johansson on the red carpet for the ‘Her’ premiere during the 8th Rome Film Festival held at Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Italy yesterday evening.

If it’s not black, it’s white. So, having worn a black Louis Vuitton dress to the photocall, she donned white for the premiere, wearing a Balenciaga Spring 2014 dress – our first look at this collection off the runway.

The crushed-lurex and organza-veiled dress was considerably more fashion-forward than Scarlett’s choice and I prefer this of the two, but I just wish I felt she owned the look.

As usual, I feel like she is slightly intimidated by it, however, this is still BDOTW worthy.

B Brian Atwood ‘Labrea’ white leather sandals, a half-up, half-down hairstyle and rouge lip colour provided the finishing touches.

I don’t think she’s selling this enough for me, she looks slightly uncomfortable and the overall effect of this dress is on the unflattering side. I do love the hair/makeup and shoes though.

I agree. Between the length and the shoes it is rather unflattering.

i feel like somethings missing like shes naked strangely im getting a bathroom vibe cant help but wonder what it would look like if she scrapped the see through bit and the non see through bit was longer. few could pull this off i would like to se this miley

I prefer Scarlett because she can own the red carpet while Ronney seems always intimidated (someone tell her that photographers won’t bite her).

  5. Christine November 11, 2013 at 13:31 #

She looks gorgeous. I like this BDOTW worthy look.

  6. Dorothy November 11, 2013 at 13:35 #

It feels like the look is wearing her, instead of the other way around, which is something I don’t find appealing.

I like her hair and make up here, but I’m getting seriously bored with this “Which weirdly-shaped dress could I wear next?” attitude.

I’m in love. I totally love every single look she’s pulled on, not a single mistake in my book.

Perfect for me too! I dont think she is looking unfortable in the other pics..

I like the way she has the courage to wear dresses that wouldn’t be deemed safe by others. For me this is a great look and BDOTW-worthy. Impeccable styling along with a touch of broody attitude (as always).

This is a dress that’s hard to pull off and she doesn’t. She looks rather awkward and uncomfortable in it.

  12. easyBlake November 11, 2013 at 15:56 #

I like that this look is on the red carpet. She looks a little stiff, but they’re aren’t many wearing looks like this, so kudos for trying so frequently, Rooney Mara.

I couldn’t dislike this more. Actually cringed when I first saw the photo.

      +1!

      yeah,me too

I looove the dress but it needs someone with more presence Charlize or Keira.

  15. Liv November 11, 2013 at 16:38 #

I so wanted to see this dress on the red carpet but not on her.

  16. Ash November 11, 2013 at 17:55 #

    BDOTW worthy!
Is she gaining weight for a role or something? She looks thicker.
    Love her shoes and makeup!

  17. Alexa November 11, 2013 at 18:36 #

It could have looked better if the sheer skirt was only a tad longer than the actual skirt. This one made her look short.

  18. Tatiana November 11, 2013 at 19:14 #

This dress was one of my favorites from this collection. It is such a piece of art, but I hate to say it on her I don’t love it that much.

  19. Yeliz November 11, 2013 at 19:27 #

I love it, it’s so original and she is totally selling it to me. She looks gorgeous. BDOTW worthy for me too.

  20. Nat39 November 11, 2013 at 19:54 #

She does look stiff and uncomfortable, but I like the fashion-forwardness of the look esp. next to plain sweet and cutesy Scarlett. BDOTW worthy for the originality.

  21. Daisy November 11, 2013 at 20:46 #

I find this aweful! Her legs do not look good! The lurex/ organza looks cheap to me. I usually don’t like anything that is overly architectural and futuristic

  22. Emily November 11, 2013 at 21:11 #

Not an easy look to pull off and I think she wore the dress reasonably well.

  23. snow November 11, 2013 at 21:39 #

I want to love it, but her slouching makes her look uncomfortable and I can only focus on that.

  24. Kathy November 11, 2013 at 23:52 #

Not quite sure Rooney is selling this look to me, but I’ll give her a pass because this was one of my favorite looks from the collection. I just love the structure and the sheer veil. It’s elegant and sophisticated yet avant garde. Props to Rooney’s hair and makeup team, the red lip and hairstyle are perfect.

  25. Liz November 12, 2013 at 01:09 #

    LOVE IT!!!

  26. cherrysoftness November 12, 2013 at 01:32 #

I LOVE THIS DRESS but, no. It looks terrible on her, she’s not pulling this off at all. She looks unhappy and uncomfortable, and the dress is floating on her like it’s trying to exist on its own. She’s just carrying it around in the most un-stylish way possible.

This is making me sad. This dress deserved to be worn grandly.

  27. Danielle November 12, 2013 at 03:10 #

Love the dress but she looks uncomfortable in it.

  28. amy November 12, 2013 at 11:38 #

    not liking this at all

  29. dee November 12, 2013 at 13:44 #

I like this on her and I think she is selling it.
