Blake Lively In Oscar de la Renta – 2013 A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson’s

Blake Lively In Oscar de la Renta - 2013 A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson'sBlake Lively attended the 2013 ‘A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson’s’ event, hosted at The Waldorf-Astoria in New York City on Saturday.

The actress channeled her romantic side with a white silk faille, floral woodblock-printed gown with sorbet-tinged threadwork and sequin embroidery from Oscar de La Renta’s Spring 2014 collection.

The off-the-shoulder, demure dress, with its bell-shaped, high-low skirt, conveyed a sense of vintage charm and period drama, which she complemented with nude Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ pumps and a loose, half-up ‘do.

She stayed partially true to the runway styling, looping on that sizable Oscar de la Renta peony crystal necklace whilst skipping the massive statement earrings.

Is everything coming up flowers for you with this look, or are you bothered by any thorns?

Its just too much of a dress..both on and off the runway

  2. Nadine November 12, 2013 at 02:00 #

It’s the shoes, it’s the shoes, it’s the shoes! And maybe the hair.

I think she not classy enough to pull this off. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying she is tacky or anything but she has a more “sexy/New York” style to make this dress work.

I love the look – the neckless wasn’t needed but I still love it.

  5. Alina November 11, 2013 at 16:26 #

Without the necklace and with green pumps I would have loved it.

  6. Jess2 November 11, 2013 at 15:57 #

I really like this. Very charming and romantic

If she’d put her hair up and worn bright shoes this would have been hit for me as I like the actual print. The necklace isn’t bad but it feels superfluous here.

I love this from the ankles up. I mean, she’s great friends with Louboutin. Couldn’t she raid the Louboutin store for some better shoes? I love the dress with the necklace but the necklace on the runway seems chunkier which is what I prefer. Or she could go with no necklace but with just some earrings.

This the most un-Blake Lively thing I’ve ever seen her wear. Her styling just isn’t working either. The while look comes off as very costume-y.

she looks beautiful but something’s off is a belt misisng? is it the necklace? i definitely think she got the hair right. a retro do would have been too much. maybe the novelty of seeing her in de la renta, and in such an old fashioned looking gown, is just too hard to digest.

If I was her, I would’ve left the necklace at home!! The dress is actually good and the shoes don’t bother me!

  12. Christina November 10, 2013 at 20:21 #

Unlike most people above, I actually really like the necklace with this gorgeous dress. The shoe choice is lazy. Apart from the footwear: top marks from me.

For someone who likes to brag about not having a stylist, Blake Lively certainly needs one. The dress is gorgeous, but the shoes and necklace killed it.

  14. Cecili November 10, 2013 at 19:39 #

This is a no no for me.

  15. pinksugar November 10, 2013 at 19:22 #

The necklace cheapens the look while the shoes age it. The dress itself is beautiful. It’s just too bad it was brought down by such poor styling.

Better the necklace than the earrings. I like this look. I mean, I’m not enamoured by it but she wears it well.

  17. Nat39 November 10, 2013 at 19:05 #

The necklace isn’t working, I agree with he comments above, the nude pumps are uninspiring, the hair looks messy. It’s a nice gown and she looks lovely in it, but the styling could’ve been better.

    • Nat39 November 10, 2013 at 19:31 #

      *the comments above

    • Noemi November 10, 2013 at 19:55 #

I agree with and I also think that the length of the dress is a bit unflattering, most of all with those shoes.

      • Roosje November 10, 2013 at 22:01 #

I’m imagining it with forest green or coral pumps, it’d have looked miles better

  18. Anita November 10, 2013 at 18:39 #

I don’t understand the necklace at all, wish she had chosen not to wear it. Aside from that I think she looks good. I really like that she seems to be branching out of her comfort zone.

    I like the darker hair.
One thing I always envied on Blake is that for someone so tall she has such small shoulders. *sigh*

  20. Christine November 10, 2013 at 18:22 #

The necklace was not needed. I like dress but without the necklace.

The dress is gorgeous and grand on its own.

    • Nat November 10, 2013 at 23:39 #

I agree with you. I think the necklace kills the look. It makes her look like a granny.

  21. Tanya November 10, 2013 at 18:20 #

Something’s off about this look. Could be the necklace, or the fact that she looks old.

I get she’s Mrs. Reynolds these days but sexy Blake was more fun even though she could be a one trick pony back then.

I agree. I think it’s the print for me.
