Jessica Chastain In Chanel Couture – An Evening Honoring Karl Lagerfeld

Jessica Chastain In Chanel Couture - An Evening Honoring Karl Lagerfeld

Jessica Chastain attended An Evening Honoring Karl Lagerfeld held at Alice Tully Hall in New York City yesterday evening.

She could’ve worn Fendi, or Karl’s ready-to-wear line, but instead she wore the brand he is most known for: Chanel.

Selecting a look from the Fall 2013 Couture collection, the black-and-white tweed dress with an A-line skirt features white beads, grey sequins and origami effect flowers on the sleeves and skirt.

Usually my love for a Jessica Chastain look is instant, but I find myself feeling like this backless dress is a tad too twee for the actress and I am not a fan of the accessories either.

On the plus side, her makeup is flawless and I love the braided updo.

    SHE’S WEARING A CLUTCH!!! :)

Other than that, I agree that this is not one of her best looks.

Wow! What a beautiful eye makeup! Is this a copper brown or more an “aubergine” color?

I like this look apart from the shoes.

The accessories are not that great because the one time she decided to carry a clutch she carried a wrong one and the shoes…well they’re pretty uninspired for a couture look. But I think it could have been a lot worse. She carries the dress itself quite well and of course the make up is divine.

    I think she looks stunning!

Chanel must stop using 16 years old girls on their shows. On the left, the seems unflattering because it is not fitted and on the right, it is just perfect.
Chanel is like the contrary of Dior. Perfect on the RC or real life and atrocious on the runway.

I like this quite a bit, though I agree the miraculous clutch could be smaller. The look would have been edgier if she had worn the belt, but I like it this way.

Missing a belt for me, but she looks nice.

Hair and make up are stunning, as is the top of the dress but the bottom of the dress looks like an overdecorated Xmas tree.

I love this look from head-to-toe, I think she looks so beautiful. I can’t take my eyes off of that gorgeous braided updo.

I find the dress overworked and the proportions are off somehow. Love her hair and makeup – immaculate.

    A clutch! :D
The dress isn’t flattering for her.
