Cobie Smulders In Christian Dior – Guggenheim International Gala

Cobie Smulders In Christian Dior - Guggenheim International Gala

Cobie Smulders joined Elizabeth Olsen on the red carpet for the Guggenheim International Gala in New York City last night.

The brunette beauty selected a black-and-white look from Dior’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection featuring a black draped asymmetrical top over a narrow white skirt.

Deciding not to overcomplicate the tricky-to-pull-off look, she styled the look with a black Dior clutch and black patent Dior pumps.

What I j’adore most about this look is her dark-cherry lip colour.

You may remember that Zhang Ziyi wore this same dress while attending the Dior Cruise 2014 show back in May.

    Heavy and unimaginative.

I think Cobie wore it better than Zhang. The lipstick is definitely the best part of this look, but I really like the whole look. Though the shoes could’ve been more interesting.

Agreed! And perhaps the pearl collar that Lee Ann speaks of. But still really lovely.

I’m a fan of a black and white gown, and this is wonderful. Smulders always looks her best in minimalist styles that relax the eye and don’t compete for attention with her classic features.

Absolutely agree.. her classic looks make this outfit

I loved this dress on Zhang. She looked much more comfortable in it and I actually liked how her white pumps worked with the look. Cobie looks somewhat “blocky” and tense in it.

She looks afraid to move in all of the photos. Her hair and makeup are beautiful, but also static. I trust that LeeAnn is correct and that the dress is lovely in motion, but it looks pretty dead here. I agree that something a little more is needed at the neck–a collar, necklace or larger earring. The lipstick is good, but not quite enough.

She made it work. Love the lipstick.

I absolutely love this, simple yet stunning.

Agreed. She looks confident wearing the dress and does not take herself too seriously. Love it on her.

YES! I agree, the lip colour is the icing in the cake, well done!

+1 divine! I wish I knew what lipstick she was wearing..

I know this piece really well and it is very chic in real life and in movement although you wouldn’t know it from this picture. I wish she had worn the pearl collar that they showed in the couture show.
