Carrie Underwood In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2013 CMA Awards

Carrie Underwood In Ralph & Russo Couture - 2013 CMA Awards

I was stunned when I saw Carrie Underwood on the red carpet for the 47th annual CMA Awards held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee yesterday evening.

Firstly because the pageant hair has finally given way to a sleeker ‘do.

Also because she wore a breathtaking Ralph & Russo Couture dusky-pink long-sleeved sheer gown enriched with delicate rose-gold floral-and-crystal embellishments.

Having seen this beauty in the designer’s atelier, it’s a delight to see it not only brought to life, but worn so beautifully.

Carrie styled the look with Jimmy Choo metallic-rose-gold accessories including their ‘Fayme’ sandals and ‘Cloud’ clutch.

Yesterday it was announced that Ralph & Russo will present their first runway show during Couture fashion week in January. This was a great way to mark that announcement.

The embellishments are receding so tackily between the thighs, it’s just not cool.

Too many nude embellished sheerish gowns at the CMA’s. She looks lovely, but that’s it.

I don’t care how many embellishments walk the red carpet, this one is in an exceptional dress!

She looks beautiful. Nice hair too.

After I picked my jaw off the floor, I had to admit this is the first time I have ever really liked anything Carrie has worn. She finally looks like a woman, and not a girl playing dress up.

Love the hair, and makeup. Absolutely stunning dress!

I really like her hair. The dress is just OK, kinda tired of the sheer skirted look.

I knew you would love this! Not only is the dress stunning on its own, but Carrie took a step out of her normal mode. Love this sleeker look on her.

The first thing that came to my mind was the hair as well! The dress is gorgeous and she looks just absolutely breathtaking.

I love the dress, but not her hairstyle.

I’m floored. Mostly by the hair, hopefully she keeps this up cos I for one will not miss the old straw yellow pageant hair. Wow!

Whilst the dress is still like her typical sparkly choices, the style is different enough (+ with the hair) to make it a great departure from her usual shtick.

FC are you going to do a wrap up of all Carrie’s dresses last night??!

Hate the hair, hate the heavy makeup (I’ve literally never seen a picture of Carrie without a dark smoky eye), and the dress looks quite sloppy.

Finally a comment about the makeup! OH MY GOD, I have NEVER seen so much foundation it looks so fake I can’t even look at the dress! Is it the picture or what?

Heavy makeup, and a tacky sheer dress…Carrie can do better.
