Sarah Jessica Parker In Giles – ‘city.ballet’ Series New York Premiere

Sarah Jessica Parker In Giles & Saint Laurent - 'city ballet' Series New York Premiere

Sarah Jessica Parker posed on the red carpet of AOL On’s ‘city.ballet’ series premiere, for which she is the executive producer, at Tribeca Cinemas yesterday in New York City.

She put on quite the set of wide-ranging pieces, edging up her pastel-pink, high-low Giles Spring 2014 dress—which just so happened to match her lipstick—with a mega-studded, black leather Saint Laurent Resort 2014 jacket.

SJP only removed the jacket once inside the venue to reveal the sheer embroidered sleeves on her Giles dress.

Polka-dot tights and teal suede Manolo Blahnik pumps, alongside a blue-and-black, gold chain Freedom of Animals handbag and a vintage-look collar Fred Leighton necklace, made for a somewhat eclectic collection of bedfellows to accessorize her punk-funk look.

Perhaps she was hearkening back to her ‘Sex and the City’ days.

Do all the style pieces fit together, or do you find SJP’s entrance just plain puzzling?

I would have never put the same attire on but it looks good on SJP

I’m surprised how much I like this look that wouldn’t work on anybody else but SJP.

+2?? I am kind of stupified. I mean normally, this menagerie would be a definite ‘don’t’, but she has a way with quirkiness that just simply can’t be explained–or understood.

This whole look is very SATC! I do like it because SJP makes it work but I wish she didn’t wear the tights and wore a different pair of shoes!

Black tights and black shoes makes the outfit look too costumey.

Weird lenght on the dress. Or is it just too long on her (comparing to the runway photo)?

I don’t like any of this, not individually, and certainly not together. Reminds me of a granny who wears her favourite pieces from bygone eras no matter how they look together.

      ITA!

+2. Clutter everywhere. She doesn’t need a stylist, she needs Peter Walsh.

      ditto.

I would have never picked this dress. SJP does the almost impossible – makes it almost presentable. WHy choose this horror of a dress when there are so many other choices available.

Very Sex in the City, and I love it!! This is my fav look for SJP in a while. Love all the pieces, colors & patterns pulled together perfectly.

She is wearing way too many pieces. Not liking the styling.

    • Yeliz November 5, 2013 at 23:09 #

      ITA.

    • Noemi November 6, 2013 at 09:00 #

I agree, there’s too much going on, different styles, colors.

She really needs to dial back the black eyes. It ages her and removes focus from her colourful eyes.

Kane could not have said it better. Removal of the tights would’ve improved it a little, but I don’t think anything could put this in the good books.

Too hodgepodge. As I look at it the piece I like the least is the dress–it would be pretty on her with better styling, but it just doesn’t go with the rest of the presentation.

    • dee November 5, 2013 at 14:56 #

I agree. This outfit isn’t cohesive enough. I do like some of the pieces just not all together.

  9. EmmaWoodhouse November 5, 2013 at 17:22 #

It feels very cluttered in a way that’s meant to be fashion-y but ends up just being confusing.

She’s well dressed, but she looks like a witch
