Kate Waterhouse In Peter Pilotto – Melbourne Cup Day

Kate Waterhouse In Peter Pilotto - Melbourne Cup Day

Kate Waterhouse attended Melbourne Cup Day in Australia on Tuesday.

Perhaps it was something in the water, but Coco Rocha wasn’t the only one to don Peter Pilotto for the day’s festivities. The Sun Herald journalist — who also happens to be a part of Australia’s racing royalty — also chose an optic-printed Peter Pilotto Fall 2013 dress, this one with cutout short sleeves and a fun cocktail-length hemline.

For me, this look got its one-two punch from the well-coordinated details: a sexy pair of Tom Ford shoes, a gold Charlotte Olympia ‘Box Office’ clutch, and a custom co-designed headpiece by Nerida Winter for Hardy Brothers Jewellery.

I would like this look a lot more without the sleeves–it makes it look like she is wearing a picture frame over her upper torso. But clearly over the top is expected for this event, and she is right in there with the best of them. Her look is certainly gentler than Coco’s or Dita’s.

I don’t like the head piece or shoes.

Not fond of the styling. As for the dress itself, I like the print, but it looks strange around the chest area, somewhat flat and unflattering.

The dress is pretty, interesting and creates a flattering silhouette, and the overall look is very well coordinated. Well done.

She looks nice, not sure about the headpiece, though. Nowhere near Dita’s caliber, but I still think it’s super stylish and event appropriate.

I don’t like the hair piece but the rest looks great.

Chic, a little too much on her head, but otherwise a good look. Better than Coco in this instance imo.

If I had not just seen Dita, I think I would like this look a lot more. But after that beautiful white suit, this looks cluttered to me.

I like the shoes. The dress looks too busy and restricting around the shoulders.

I love everything about this look.

Wish she tied up her hair

She looks a lot like Olivia Palermo here. Whilst I didn’t dislike her Derby Day attire, this is miles better and yes, BDOTW-worthy in my book. Probably one of the best dressed there.

Smart girl choosing something with cutouts around the shoulders considering how warm it was yesterday.

I am so enamoured by this look!!! I love everything, she has styled the dress to perfection. Absolutely BDOTW for me.

By the way, the shoes are Alexander Wang’s ‘Clara’, not Tom Ford.
