Poppy Delevingne In J’Aton Couture – Victoria Derby Day

Poppy Delevingne In J'Aton Couture - Victoria Derby Day

Poppy Delevingne enjoyed a day out at the races with Kate Waterhouse, Lara Bingle and Naomi Campbell at the Victoria Derby Day at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday.

The socialite had fun with her look wearing a J’Aton Couture white laser-cut frock with a triple-layered skirt, to which she added gold-glitter shoes.

Instead of the more traditional hat or fascinator, she wore an opulent Dolce & Gabbana filigree crown ornamented with Swarovski crystals and intricate glass mosaics.

The dress is lovely, but the crown is too costumey (though fun). The shoes are OTT.

Okay, so NO, I don’t like the shoes, but I adore the rest! I can’t believe I’m the only one… I think this dress is absolutely beautiful–I am a sucker for Battenburg lace, which this definitely reminds me of. But I also love the style, the construction, and the tiered skirt with the sheer panels is so lovely. And I also like the “crown” so much! I aam fine with it’s appropriateness since she wore it under her hair instead of over it, which keeps it from looking costumey, to me. For some reason, I just think it really plays well together, (minus the shoes, natch).

I wish SOMEONE else could see what I see…
