Naomie Harris In Donna Karan Atelier - 'Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom' Johannesburg Premiere

Naomie Harris attended the premiere of ‘Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom’ in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Largely based on his autobiography of the same name, the movie traces the life of the anti-apartheid icon from his childhood in the rural Eastern Cape to his election as the country’s first black president in 1994. Naomie stars as Nelson Mandela’s wife, Winnie Mandela.

Naomie wore a Donna Karan Atelier gown, which was a breathtaking sight to behold.

Her one-shoulder gown of draped white silk-gauze over gold silk-lamé features an exposed underskirt in silk-tulle. Both the necklace and skirt are embellished with antique-gold metal embroidery, which really brings this look alive.

I wish there was a better picture. I was going to say that this look is on a par with the other Donna Karan Atelier gown she wore to the Met Gala this year, but I now think this supersedes it.

She looks beautiful in this gown! Love love love! I didn’t remember the purple gown from the Gala, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Both looks are exceptional. She wears Donna Karen well.

Yes, it would be hard for me to choose a favorite. Absolutely beautiful in both. What an amazingly beautiful movie star, giving us memorable, glamorous moments on the red carpet. I wish they (celebs) could all get it this right!

This is much better and more original than her Met Gala gown. She looks stunning.

This is beautiful. Perhaps, the best Donna Karen Atelier dress I’ve seen so far.

  9. Tanya November 4, 2013 at 12:28 #

Am I alone in thinking this dress looks cheap and tacky? Because in my opinion it does.

What a shame about the lack of pics! I actually can’t make my mind on the overall look, I’d love to see a full body red carpet pose image!

If the skirt wasn’t sheer this would be on BDOTY list.

    Gorgeous

A truly gorgeous, spectacular look for Naomie, the white and gold gown is stunningly beautiful with her skin tone and amazing figure. Would’ve preferred an updo to show off the sharp neckline and gold embroidery cleanly but she looks really beautiful. This look is far more impressive than her Met Gala look, BDOTW worthy.

I realize I’m in the minority here, but I’m not crazy about this dress. The fabric looks slightly cheap and I find all that gold tacky. The dress from the Met is class all the way.

    Let me say WOW.

So breathtaking. Perfect perfect perfect. My heart cries that there are not any decent, proper pics.

This one sure as hell gets a spot in my BDOTY choosing list.

This seems more suited to a stage performance than a red carpet stroll to me.

  19. Ariel November 5, 2013 at 14:40 #

This is one beautiful gown. The best gown of the year for me. So spectacular! BDOTY for me!

Wow, this is GORGEOUS with a capital G. BDOTY contender for sure! I love the juxtaposition of the solid white bodice and the gold embellished underskirt. The transition between the two is so effortless but striking, and the dress looks coherent as a whole. What a work of art.
