Elle Fanning In Rodarte – Rodarte and Todd Cole LA Screening

Elle Fanning In Rodarte - Rodarte and Todd Cole LA Screening

Elle Fanning recently attended the Rodarte and Todd Cole screening, held at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, California.

Naturally, the young 15-year-old starlet wore Rodarte, flaunting a style-forward, slightly sci-fi creation from the label’s Spring 2013 collection.

The architectural bodice with keyhole detail had a near armorial-inspired silhouette, which her long blonde locks somewhat compromised. The strength of the top was juxtaposed with the filmy sheer skirt.

I have a feeling that some of you will find this complex, experimental look far too contrived and mature for Elle.

Elle is beautiful, but this is age-inappropriate (the keyhole), too dark and old, and actually pretty ugly to be honest.

I love this look! She carries this look amazingly and the cutout doesn’t bother me, nor does the sheer skirt. The look here is fierce rather than sexy to me.

While I dislike when Dakota constantly wears her hair down, it doesn’t bother me as much on Elle. Her hair doesn’t look lazy and safe here. Maybe it is the look on her face that is influencing me but her hair looks just as fierce as the rest of her.

She is a great mannequin, but this is 1) a hideous dress and 2) WAY too old for her.

      ITA.

It’s actually not a bad look for her.

This is actually one of her best looks ever, IMO. She’s got the height to wear it (those proportions would have drowned any petite person) and the tiered shoulders add a whimsical touch. The sheer neckline is an interesting detail as well.

Somebody else could have rocked this one even more probably, but I actually really like this.

This really suits her, the dress is incredible on her and I know she is only 15, but I have seen her expressing herself and she sounds a LOT older as also her personality is more mature, so yeah.

I love it! Young, modern, fresh, very fashion-forward–why not?! I think she looks really good, I might’ve preferred the hair back, but at the same time, it kind of goes with the ‘anything goes’ vibe of this ‘cool-girl’ dress…wouldn’t want to look too polished or tryhard, after all. Good look for Elle!

I like it, but on a 15 year old? Just no!

LOVE the look. Totally pulls it off. Fifteen is a bit young for this look though.

I find this look interesting, even if it doesn’t meet my aesthetic. I don’t even mind the typical Fanning hair here. As a whole, she manages to make it work.

Ms Fanning looks statuesque & fashion forward, but the hair just brings me down!

    perfect.

This collection is just horrendous. This look is no exception. The keyhole cut-out is too much for such a young girl and the goth vibes are probably only appropriate for halloween. Maybe they could make this work on the set of American Horror Story.

I find this look ill fitting as well as too old. As much as the Rodarte/Fanning sisters collabo is pushed it rarely (if ever) works. Often reminds me of JLaw and Dior. The effort is there but the execution forever fails.

  16. lee October 29, 2013 at 20:03 #

i can’t focus on anything the fanning sisters do until they push back their hair.

    • Malinda Jane October 29, 2013 at 20:12 #

I really wish they would change they would change up their hair every now and again. It’s very boring and pretty much always detracts from their clothes.

Suprisingly it really suits her, the dress is amazing. Although I would prefer a different hairstyle it still is a BDOTW contender.

I love this look from h-2-t!
