Giorgio Armani – One Night Only NYC

Giorgio Armani - One Night Only NYC

Stylishly clad stars collided at Giorgio Armani – One Night Only New York, held yesterday at SuperPier in New York City, with many, of course, trotting out mainly monochromatic looks from the event’s namesake designer.

Renee Zellweger: The actress skipped the skirt and suited up in a black, bow-accented blazer and loose trousers. Her minimal styling and barely-there makeup contributed to the more mannish aesthetic.

Hilary Swank: Also wearing the pants to the party, Hilary took a more dramatic approach with her slim-line pair worn with a glittery, nipped-in blazer top, further vamping up the look with strappy sandals, a smokey eye and loose waves.

Naomi Watts: Playing with proportion, the ‘Diana’ actress pulled off a silken, charcoal-grey top with billowy sleeves paired with a loose, floor-scraping black skirt. There was a lot of fabric to be had here, but there was still an effortless elegance with her swept-back locks and gemstone Monique Péan earrings.

Olivia Munn: Looking lovely, but really quite leggy, Olivia tried a pair of black mini shorts on for size, which she wore with a black silk halter top and a monochromatic cape slung over her shoulders. Black peep-toe pumps, a swept-back bun and a punchy coral lippie completed her sultry, skin-is-in entrance. Bold and beautiful, or no?

Olivia Palermo: The stylista was significantly more covered up in a mainly black statement, with her accessories once again making all the difference. She complemented the look with strands of gold necklaces and a few bangles, along with a black cummerbund belt and forest-green lace-up shoes, throwing a blazer on for that final flourish.

Dianna Agron: The ‘Glee’ girl also followed the black theme of the evening with a long-sleeved, empire-waist coat dress, accented with two rows of buttons at the bodice. A pretty, bronze smokey eye and pink lip, along with half-up, half-down blonde wavy locks, added a radiant note to her all-black ensemble.

Olivia is my favorite, and Naomi’s look interests me.

Hilary and both Olivias look great. The others, not so much. I’m curious as to whether there was some sort of dress code for this event? Everyone looks so somber and, with the exception of Naomi, is wearing all-black.

My favourite looks were Hilary Swank and Olivia Palermo.

Renee and Hilary are the only looks I care for here.

I’ve never seen such a group of horribly dressed beautiful women at an event like this…

      So unfortunate…!

I really like Hilary’s look but I am in love with Naomi’s!!! It’s so elegant and simple!!!

I feel the same–1st is Naomi, 2nd is Hilary, and the rest are just bad.

You should have added 10-year –old Quvenzhane Wallis, she was the best dressed there in her cute little Armani Kids white outfit.

Hilary is my favourite of the bunch.

It’s all too 1984 for me. Not sure where that came from, but that’s what comes to mind. I don’t like any of the looks. Especially Olivia Palermo, who prides herself on the perfect look. This is SO unflattering. Also, Olivia Munn with the shorts & the heavy coat…they just don’t go together. And the rest, well they remind me of something my mom would wear in 1984 when I was 10.

The only one I like here is Hilary Swank.

Is that really Renee? I hardly recognize her face…

I had to do triple takes and I’m still not sure!

      That’s not Renee.

Hilary Swank, wow, everyone else fades to black (couldn’t help myself). The sparkly fitted jacket plus slim pants hitting right at the perfect point to showcase strappy sandals equals much love for me. Even the clutch looks interesting (and not too big).

Renee and Hilary look stunning. Chic and polished. The worst is, in my opinion, Dianna – she looks so boxy and huge, this dress is so unflattering.

    Olivia looks good

Renee is my fave. Clean, chic, understated, effortless. Love the well-fitted bow-accented blazer.

I don’t like any of these looks.

      +1 Unflattering looks.

I totally agree. They all look too severe, too covered, and these outfits age them. I have this idea that even if Giorgio Armani is one of the classiest designer ever, his clothes need personality. I mean, most of the time when you see somebody who’s not used to wear Armani… it shows that it’s not their “cup of tea”, even if some of these women occasionally wear Armani.

Sadly, I agree! Renee looks like she just got out of bed, I don’t like Hilary’s hair, Naomi’s face is gorgeous but her look is the most unflattering grandma outfit ever, I don’t like the length of Palermo’s skirt and Diana’s coat dress is so… bizarre! In the end, Olivia Munn is the edgiest and the most fresh one here.
